Thank you Francois! Its actually a very small Joshua tree. Just a baby. I have two of the largest Joshua trees in the area in my yard. I suppose they are very old and I hope they outlive me because I would hate to see them fall. We get heavy winds out here, sometimes hurricane force gusts, and those trees never fall. They are porous and I think that helps. I love Joshua trees.

Cool stuff this week

I like the Americana from Phil and astrobeck.

Miles - Your snow pictures confuse me because they look similar to Trent Park near to me but just slightly different. It's kind of freaky.

There's an obelisk and statues too in the same park. Must be some sort of pre-boxed idea of country parks or something

Okay this isn't the weekend but Monday night is my darkroom night and last night was my first darkroom night since before Christmas.

All from my Finetta 88 camera when I was visiting my family back in New Hampshire. Arista Premium 400 (aka Tri-X for cheap) in Rodinal 1+50, printed on Ilford Multigrade RC paper (pearl finish I think) in multigrade developer. The prints are a bit nicer than the scans... I don't think my scanner liked all the fine tones and speckles of the snow very much.

First post here, really enjoying flicking around the forum and reading the articles. One of which helped me add a 195 to my collection of cameras. (I was debating the 180/195 choice.)

It arrived yesterday with portrait and close up kit, and some id-uv so it was like a second Christmas.

Below is my 3rd shot with it, and I am extremely pleased. Can't wait to get stuck in with it!

LOL! Gregor, I was trying to read the type of camera in the mirror shot and couldnt so Im really glad you mentioned what kind it was. Thank you! Great shots too! I keep shooting creosote and Im finally starting to get some shots I like. Finally.

It's a really sweet little camera. Usually it's referred to as a field camera, but it's really more of a 'pocket' view camera. Ground glass focusing only, although I will end up marking the rail with focal distances. With lens it weighs in at just over 3 pounds. A bare bones camera with the full movements of a view camera and a super nice Nikkor 150mm lens...
