It's been more than hectic at work this week, so I haven't even taken my camera out of its bag this week, let alone had anything processed. However, I have been practising the sharpening techniques that Leon and Photo Utopia (et al) very kindly relayed to me in the week when I was making such a right royal mess of my scans.

This one is a crop from a shot I took on Kodak 100 TMX using my old Bronica SQ-B and probably the Zenzanon  PS40mm lens (looking at the distortion around the edge of the shot that I cropped out).

The chap in the photo was digging out smouldering / burning pulped tree bark. They'd cut some trees down and put them through a pulper and stacked the chippings in a big heap. Without realising it, they'd created the ideal environment for spontaneous fermentation. The microbes in the pile had multiplied, due to the high moisture levels, and caused an exothermic reaction. The heat created caused a "fermentation" which started to give off a lot of smoke, causing problems for car visibility on the road adjacent.  Thankfully, they caught it before it got out of hand and caused a real big fire.

Sorry, I work as an technical underwriting manager for an insurance company head office in London. The causes or fire, how to detect them and how to put them out is important to me......well, it takes all sorts  :D

Those Agfa Clack pics have a great look to them.  Really very nice.  Hmmm....

Finally finished developing and scanning from that shoot posted heavily in last weekend's thread.  I think this is my favorite of them all.  Mamiya 6 50mm, Tri-X in Rodinal.

thanks everyone for the positive comments. I'm tossing one more up this weekend.  Had a couple of 'failed' negatives (a SP and a vision chart) today and started playing with them: triptychs, etc., and then a few negative sandwiches.  This one came out most to my liking.....

Alouain.. I love those winter trees, and how you put them together... nice to see the medium so clearly.

Gregor... very cool portraits.

Miles... the Agfa clack picture of the boys is timeless, could have been taken decades ago? Or yesterday!!

Calbisu... I love the last one even though I don't know what I'm looking at, but yes... they look gritty.

Here's  a picture I souped last weekend, but took during a weekend, probably in Sept. So... I'm  a little behind,  :-\

One of the strongest weekend threads yet, in my opinion.

Gregor - outstanding, especially the last 4

Hookstrapped, that is a stunner and yes, possibly the best of the bunch although, I was taken with the colour last week.

Alan, I'm really digging what you are  doing of late.

Calbisu, gritty and powerful work.

Calbisu - I really like your gritty shots, I'm trying to work out what's going on there?

Aoluain - I love the stitch, that's something I keep meaning to try.

I'm not particularly a train person, but when I was in Oregon I was fascinated that the trains come through the town with nothing of a barrier in the in way. Here in the UK there'd be fences, and cuttings, and warning signs a plenty! and they're huge!!

So many wonderful pics this week!! It's been so bitterly cold and we had snow on Thursday - I hate to admit that I'm just too big of a wuss to get out there in this type of frigid air!  But I did bundle up in my double-down jacket and develop my first rolls of color film in my basement last night.  Feeling quite excited about that :)

What a place to stay Diane!  Fabulous capture!
Miles, I just love all of your Agfa Clack images!  Your nephews are too cute!
And Gregor - awesome, awesome eye chart idea!! I uber-love it!
Phil - impeccable clarity and light
Calbisu - I have no idea what I was looking at, but I'm so drawn into your trio!
Mr Windy - Andrea's capture proves you've got style :)
aoluain - that is a wonderful triptych
Sean - I love unbea!!!!

Aoluain, those landscapes look terrific!! That fence makes it for me.
Sean, do not know how you find so many incredible places; well, looking for them I guess  :D Love the one with the car at the end of the stairs. Grrreat comp.
MIles, that last one is just evocative

My previous shots were taken at a local market here in Manila. The first one is a kid killing the chicken we just bought, and the last one is a fish stall with two big chunks of a Marlin...

Two more from my side (from last week), been shooting quite a bit... With the Pentax this time. The first shot I was really in a hurry (the bus was leaving without me, and Elena and little Alma were inside...), well, nowadays I seem to be always in a hurry. I think I´ve become a terribly slow shooter  :P

Amazing stuff here as usual.  Compliments all round
Didn't realise the Clack lens did that ... wow !  I butchered my Clack to make a pinhole camera... umm

No photography from me for a while due to uprecedentedly busy year away in the wilds doing self-employed work... you got to make hay when the sun shines !

Really want to get back into it soon and also continue the wet plate collodion process film editing project with Carl, which I had to suspend.  Gonna finally build that Gakkenflex too :) ... spurred on by Hookstrapped's extraordinary photos

Scan of a work print from the first roll with a new (to me) Mamiya C330s.  Just getting used to it, this roll was really just to confirm it was functioning OK.  Looks like it is apart from a mis-spaced frame on the second exposure on the roll, probably me not winding on 100%.  It will take a bit to get used to not having a DOF scale on the lens, I really rely on that on my other MF cameras.  Shot the film on Friday and developed and did some printing today (Sunday).  HP5 in D76 then printed on MGIV RC.

phil's video game shot reminds me of a polaroid of some old game cabinets i took at a semi-abandoned ropeway station on shikoku (with mark and ken), which i preceded to set down and leave behind, along with the cover for my 195. now both gone forever! i hope at least my polaroid got stuck up on someone's board around the place.

this is the shot i set my stuff down to shoot. at least it was a good shot and not crap for my loss.

Damion....I'm intrigued by your technique on that SP. Talk us through how you set it up and how you tripped the shutter. And while we're on the subject, can I just say what an absolutely incredible photo it is. Without doubt the best SP I have ever seen. You're back with a bang.

BTW, the other photo is average at best. Some you win, some you don't.

i dont think its fair to say Ed took the picture whilst i was leaning backwards underneath the oven hood to get some light on me.   Lets just say i employed a classical warhol technique.  (that is to say, yes - Ed took it)

It was just a try of the impossible film...might well make it onto a podcast
