Pentacon lens first tests
« on: November 17, 2010, 12:36:23 AM »
When my Praktica went crazy before I even put a film inside the least I could would be taking advantage of the Pentacon lens that came with since it's in pristine condition.

Got myself a nice Pentax SP500 few weeks ago and today the weather finally helped me doing some tests...

Sweet  :)  Pin sharp and lovely tones. I think you've got a great combo there....

Looks good, is it the Tessar 2,8? I knew someone that had an MTL3 with that lens, which stopped down to F8 was as good as my Canon FD 50mm.

Thanks guys for the feedback... ;) I'm glad to see that the lightmeter is working perfectly as well.

Mark, I can't see any Tessar information on the lens, this is a F1.8...

Check the EXIF information on the digital files...you'll probably find out all you need to know from there.

 ;)

Ed... I've never tried before but isn't this used just for digital cameras ?

If it is the 1,8 version it's not the Tessar. The Tessar is a 4 element lens the F1,8 I'll bet is a 6 element planar type.

Here is the Tessar

Contrasty and sharp, but slow.

This is yours?

As you know_ still a very good lens.
