I'm finally scanning and developing more films than I shoot. One day my stack will be down to zero. One day ...

Thanks Skorj. However I think I need to figure out that DOF thingie ;) Oh, and have a look if the lens is OK ... Anyway, I would get another Yashica Mat if this one turns out to be broken.

A couple taken in Cromer last week. Minolta hi-matic F and Ektar.

Might have a few more to show later...

the color really pops on that Daylily one!
Love my "mat' too.  It's so far the best camera I have to make portraits.

That High-matic is one sharp shooter too!  wow!  :)

peter, the light in those shots are really captivating. nice to see what ektar can do with the subtle tones~

and urban.. I always find a yashica shot, mat or other, interesting to look at. just what can be done. I particularly like the colourfull contrast in that second one with the red flowers~

dunno if I have time to scan something this weekend. but I'm gonna borrow a friends lubitel.. take her for a ride downtown maybe ;D

Can be soft at the edges sometimes but probably not noticeable at this size.

Here's a few more. Same camera but XP2.

Hi! love the Hi-matic pictures!

I finally got around to developing my first 35mm negatives in 20 years this week and I'm quite happy with what I found. Below are a couple of snaps I made with my Minolta SRT102 down in Cornwall, both with expired Fuji Reala

Lovely work - one and all...!! It's good to be back.

Northumberland - Isle of Skye - North Uist - Harris - Keswick were wonderful but bloody wet.

I managed to take about 10 rolls of 120 mono and roughly the same of 35mm Velvia in the 12 days away. The problem now is getting it all processed, scanned and ready to post. Please bear with me as I think there might be a few happy accident amongst the shots as I variously forgot to change aperture, shutter speed and all that sort of stuff. Who knows...!!??

Best regards.

Paul.

My first solo developed films are hanging in the kitchen drying. 2x Delta 3200, one from the leaky Zenit so not holdingout too much hope there and the other from the Canon Sureshot A1.  Dry damn you !

More pretty flowers please! Peter those are lovely.. and Phil - love it.. you have such a great eye..

I've had an interesting week busy shooting.. however a couple of disasters.. first shutter broke on my really old Holga during a shoot.. and then all of my expired rollei retro from last sunday was badly fogged.. my lost in the post films from the other week haven't turned up anywhere.. sigh. I have consoled myself by buying more cameras and books.. and i did shoot some ektar at the circus yesterday  :)

I've been on holiday the last two weeks so I've got a 'shed' full of stuff to scan. Here's a few more from my Ridgeway project.

I've got a web site up and running now for this project. Link in my siggy.

Peter I love the sky in the first shot, and yes the fish and chips taste so good in Cromer that they do clear the streets.
Nice sets of images.

Gosh, Peter's Ridgeway and Skorj's river are rather dramatic.

1st roll of Delta 3200 scanned, from the leaky Zenith and despite looking like the water marks would kill them they came out ok.  Will tackle the the secon reel later.  These are from Chateaurenard in Provence again, just below Avignon.

Peter; agree with others. Your pictures have such a clarity, and some of your landscapes are... almost epic!   ;D   and yes, trying and trying...

Skorj; you clearly have a style of your own..

Vicky; that third shot makes me think that may be the hassy is not such a bad camera after all : )

From my side taken with the Canon F1-N (with which I just cannot get comfortable... I am thinking of selling it and sticking to the Canon A1) I have found out that the biggest and the heaviest is not the best. The Canon A1 just feels much more intuitive on my hands.. The same goes to my FD lens 1.2f, again I feel better with the Canon FD 1.4f.... I guess it takes some time to find out what equipment suits more your style.

These shots come from a walk near the river, not far from hometown. Playing a bit with the camera..

What a stunning thread....!!

As ever, there's such a variety in subject matter, format and presentation. It's difficult to pick out a favourite but I must say that I'm very taken with Peter's "Ridgeway" and "Cromer" series. Miles' first roll of 3200 has come out really well. Vicky's images are very delicate and beautiful and I find Skorj's river shot quite disturbing - in a good way  ;)

I've been trying to do a deal to get a load of film from my holiday processed. My reasoning is that many of the chemicals can be re-used and they can process more than one roll at a time anyway. Seems reasonable to me - I'll have to wait and see. Once I have a few more images under my belt, I should be able to join the party a bit more regularly.

Best wishes. Paul.

less shooting lately and more organizing to print in the darkroom.  Here's one from a partially realized project: a documentary of the historic renovation of The Panama Hotel in Seattle: a former rooming house for Japanese men who were inturned in camps during WWII.

Some really lovely work this week from everyone. I'm dissatisfied with my own shooting but found a few old exposed glass plates while clearing up the darkroom today. Here's one. Must make some prints from this.

Hi Andrea.

My wife and I have just returned from our trip to Skye. We managed to get out as far as North Uist and Harris (courtesy of a "Grand Tour" ticket from Uig on the Caledonian MacBrayne). The only problem was that we were constantly on the move and never got chance to look round properly or get the cameras out much.

Don't despair with your own shooting, we all get a bit like that sometimes. The old plate shot was beautiful, though.

Best regards, Paul.
