Been offered some cameras, are they worth having?
« on: September 09, 2010, 01:53:20 PM »
Been offered some old film cameras by a work colleague, are they worth having a play with - for the money?

Rollei 35B          25gbp
Zenith LC-A        40gbp
Olympus 35RC    7.50gbp
Olympus 35DC    7.50gbp

Or making a couple of quid on.  Is the LC-A worth much.  Looks to be about a hundred quid on the bay!

Thanks,

Chops

I had a Rollei 35 and really liked it, here is my blog page:

The one you're looking at has a Triotar (3 element) rather than the Tessar (4 element).
The Oly is a nice camera a bit like an Olympus trip but with more control-it has a good lens.
I think the Zeinith is a small camera I think beloved by the Lomography crowd..

The LC-A is probably worth something if it works.

I have a 35 RC. Great camera but takes mercury batteries which may be difficult to get depending on where you live. You can get a battery adapter so maybe it is not too big a deal (or use the camera is full mechanical mode). Definitely worth the 7.50gbp.

Let me know if you buy the 35RC and want to sell it on...

The Zenith LCA it's the original Russian LCA and not the lomographic one.

Get all of them, sell the Lomo for twice as much, and you will have three new cameras for free and beer money.
