Curtains for the Zenith EM ?
« on: August 31, 2010, 08:04:40 PM »
 :-[

Damn, got some Ilford Delta 400 back that I used in the (one of, I have a weakness) Zenit EM and I think the curtains might be perished but I'd appreciate council on this ... Have run another film through it to which is a bummer. Looks like the back is leaking too on one of them.   You can see my office in the second St. Pauls pic though ...  :) ... On the left of St. Paul's, The Faraday Building, it's a peach !

Well, there is some obvious lens flare...
If the camera uses an horizontally moving cloth shutter, I'd probably go for defective shutter (inconsistent speed). I don't think a light leak would be that even.

Thanks - it's very regular, those "dots" in the bottom right.  Yes it's a horizontal material shutter curtain.

For the dots, it could be related to bad lightproofing inside the camera (looks like flare), or a missing chip of lightproofing material on the shutter itself. If the spots appear only when the shutter is cranked (or not) and left in the sun for a short while should tell the story.
