Hi Filmwasters and I'm sorry that took so long, but BOY am I glad to see you all again. It was looking touch and go for a while. It's a good job that the bassist in one of my bands is a MySQL and PHP guy...he helped dig me out of a hole.

The bulk of the forum is back (and upgraded) so I thought I'd open it up again. Most of the images posted here previously aren't online yet, but they'll dribble in as the backup completes. By all means post new images as per normal.

UPDATE: The restore of the old images has completed and they're sort of here, but not appearing properly. Something, somewhere is kaput, so I'll need to look into that; sorry.

If you experience any difficulties, please don't comment here. Let's keep this board about photography! Instead please start a thread on the Housekeeping board and I'll address the problems as I get time.

That looks very 'metal' Phil and, as such, is very good. You sure you were in Black Sabbath?

Also, no-one's pointed out that it's probably quite difficult to dig someone out of a hole (see my initial post in this thread). It made me laugh just now though.

I just hate it when something which is supposed to be a simple upgrade turns nasty.
Reminds me of my upgrade to Win XP SP3... which I had to painfully install in safe mode.

Ed..so happy to see we are back up and running..imagine my distress when opening up "filmwasters" this morning ( first thing I do, mind you) and nothing interesting or entertaining to read..so alas..went off to work..imagine my joy when arriving home and finding my friends all back again..You are a prince among men!

Diane, glad to be of service. I didn't want anyone getting severe withdrawal symptoms so completed the work as quickly as I could...but it still took a day longer than I'd hoped.

Hi Ed-

Short answer: Yes!

I will be back in the States in two weeks though (I guess that still counts as 'home'), and have literally hundreds of photos to develop and scan! Should be quite the task... It's strange knowing I have taken so many photos that I haven't even seen. I use digital for 'work', so I get to look at plenty of pixels, but it's just not the same pleasure as getting my films back from the lab. All my film stuff is the personal side, which makes it so much more pleasing when I finally get to see it.

I won't stay still long though, as I have more travels stateside planned for September and then in October it's off to Peru for a few months for more photo-adventures.

So... Unfortunately, all of that leaves me little time to peruse Filmwasters (or any online venture) these days. The good side however is I am still wasting plenty of film! Perhaps in a few weeks when I have some new scans I can find the time to post a few images!
