Weekend beginning 2nd July!
« on: July 02, 2010, 11:02:40 AM »
I won't bore you with anymore cherry pics even though I'm still taking them :)

This is the lower bunk bed.
Hassy fuji 800z with 10mm ext. tube which gives the exaggerated dof.

From my side an old shot that had been laying around and then recovered the negative with the Bleeeeeach technique. Pola 195, fuji FP 100c...

A little processing from last night. Hasselblad swc on Fuji 160C.

Thank you :) And next time I won't try to photograph towards the sun with my Yashica Mat. Even with a lens hood it's very easy to get lens flares. That's not what I'm used to from my Tokina zoom lens ;)

High standard as always!

Urban, love your two shots, I'm a big fan of Ektar. Calbisu, we're friends, right!

Miller, that was one hell of a match - unfortunate outcome, I'm sure most would have loved to see Ghana progress, still, they have much to be proud of. Really digging the colour in this shot.

@Urban - Nice first shot and stop reminding me that my Yashica is catching dust...

For whatever reason I'm way more gutted about Ghana going out than I was about England...possibly because Ghana deserved the win. I can't believe I'm this annoyed by the result.

Here's a few from the last couple of weekends taken at various events. Just scanned. All on Ektar.

on friday afternoon i decided to try my hand at doing paper neg pinhole shots in the field. i used a couple of old paper boxes to store shot and fresh paper and reloaded the oatmeal can pinhole using a changing bag. the bag wasn't quite as big as it probalby should have been, but at least i had some success. so here's one of the paper negs from that day and a photogram i did when i couldn't locate my negative carriers.

Miles...that Beetle shot is indeed velly striking. Good stuff.

Sapata: I took the kids to see those flying dinosaurs at the South Bank 2 weeks ago; they're fantastic. The fountain nearby is probably the best photo op in London at the moment, but you need some kids with you before you can start taking snaps of it, otherwise you'd probably get arrested. I took some snaps on my phone when we were there (http://www.flickr.com/photos/edwenn/tags/southbankfountain/show/), but they came out so well I'm tempted to go back with some film...and the kids of course ;D

BTW, I loved that portrait of you and yr wife. Excellent stuff.

My own late, late contribution to this weekend thread is of Joe and his friend, Maya (and lots of inflatable water toys) in the paddling pool. Taken with the Graph Check sequence camera on expired Polaroid Type 72 sheet film. My penultimate pack...sniff!

Yep, the Graph Check is indeed a fun toy (albeit about the same size as a 600SE), so not exactly a 'carry anywhere' camera. It is set up to take a Polaroid 545 sheet film holder (soon to be an extinct format), so I'm hoping I can adapt it to take a 550 holder which will enable me to carry on using it for as long as Fuji make their 5x4 instant pack film.

I also own a polaroid back and can't remember when it was the last time I use it.
I can't pay the prices they're asking for..., in the mean time I can only wish one day the impossible project will come up with the 5x4 instant film as well. I know it's a very long shot since they not even sorted the 600 properly but who knows ?

Back to the original thread the graph check is great ! I remember now seeing here in somewhere and I think the supersampler camera got the idea from them...

Vicky - very nice upper bunk.  Scrunch up your eyes and it could almost be a Walter Niedermayr alpine minature.

Leon - ah, you've discovered one of our best kept secrets!  Puts the creamery made Wensleydale blue entirely in the shade (although its sacrilege to say that around here, where our ancient heritage is being maintained by Polish and Lithuanian youngsters, who are willing to work the long hours for poor wages, that our locals disdain!).  Hope you enjoyed your stay and took some nice piccies while you were up here.
