Holiday snaps.
When you live on an island like here, the one thing you crave is the highlife, so we went to the Isle of Jura. Paradise! Sunny all week - too much so really. Still recovering from all the excitement.

Scanned and adjusted last night. Taken with the Holga using APX100 - I'd welcome any observations on the marks you can see. I like them on this image, but, on many it  doesn't work. I bought the batch of film from ebay a few years ago and every film I have used so far has these marks on some or all of the frames. When I purchased it the film had been removed from the foil wrappers so I was wondering if moisture may have caused it from refrigeration?

The second was again the holga on XP2 - Does 2 photos make a series? If so I now have a series of people with magnifying glasses!

I had something similar a while ago on one of the first films I processed myself.
I'll dig the negs out and have a think about the film and whether there was anything specifically careless I'd done with the film/development!  ;D

I have had this eefect from old perutz film. My guess is that the conditions the film has been kept in were bead - hot or something.

Thank you, guys. The frames that are clean are lovely, but, I have resorted to only using it in plastic cameras because of the likelihood that the frame will be like this. I just wondered if he refrigerated it after removing it from the foil then it might be moisture. But, as I don't dev my own black and white I know little about what happens to films when this and that is done to them.

Thanks for thinking about it.

@ Andrea- The sight of Jura makes me slightly homesick (never actually set foot on the island but it's always looming somewhere in the background in Argyll)

@ Phil. These are great. Are you collecting people peering thru magnifying glasess?

As for myself, took some pinholaroid at the distortion street party in Copenhagen yester'een:

Diane & DS, I'm thinking that this series might be a slow burn - you don't see many people using magnifying glasses in the street these days. Let it be known though, if they show their faces in Bath I'll be on 'em like a duck on a June bug!

Phil, nice series there! And yes I think that two makes a series
DS, great, I will have to try pinholaroid!

From my side one test tshot with my new acquired lens, Canon FL 19mm 3.5 R, R goes for retrofocus wich I still do no know exactly what it means... anyway this is the widest lens I have used so far, still getting the pulse of it, but many possibilities....  ;D

R goes for retrofocus wich I still do no know exactly what it means...
It simply means an inverted telephoto design was used. If a real standard wide angle design was used, the rear element would be so close to the film that the mirror would hang-up on the lens. Some of the early Nikkor fisheyes were standard design and required the photographer to use mirror lock-up and an accessory finder to use them.

Yet another piece of fun yet totally useless information  ;D

Mr. Francois, you are right, the previous Canon lensk the Canon Fl 19mm 3,5 (this time without the ?R?), required the camera (the first Canon F1) to have the mirror locked up. As the latest F1 model did not have that feature I guessed they developped the Retrofocus model... did I say the latest F1 model? That must be my latest acquired camera!!! The wondrous Canon F1-N!!!  ;D

Carl -  While on a totally off topic thing, there's a trick to keeping tulips for many days. Usually, they are open much too wide the next day and fall apart. That's because water is sucked up to the bloom too fast. But if you take a safety pin and puncture a small hole straight through the stem just under the flower, while being almost invisible to the naked eye, it slows down the flow of water through the capillaries and makes it last surprisingly long.

The expected range of excellence from all again this week.

I haven't been doing much of late, switching formats and reverting to 4x5 has taken up my time.  But I did have a trip to a coastal resoert town called Kiama and found a weathered headstone ..... and a broken one.

Howdy all,
Here are a few from my trip to Tokyo last month, the first three taken with a Nikon F and a Nikkor 105mm 2.5, the fourth is from a Canonet 28 (1,000 Yen at Alps-Do Camera in Shinjuku). All were taken with Agfa APX 400, processed in Edwal FG-7 @ 1:10 dilution.

Finally! Here, at last!
I just got a roll back from the lab from a series of test shots I took with a very nice Voigtlander Vito B that I got from a friend.
The little camera handles surprisingly well. It also has a solid "heavy metal" feel to it :)
Here are a few shots from my first roll... I hope you like the country ;)

That's just a very small piece of agricultural land about 15 minutes from home.
From the road, you can see the Spage Agency :)
It's actually one of my favorite spots when it comes to wasting film. There's a creek (well, it's more a drainage ditch for the surrounding area and it's filled with brownish water), but the place is one of those rare photogenic spots left where decay is actually a nice thing.

If you want to check out the spot with google earth, here are the coordinates
Lat:  45?31'7.90"N
Long:  73?23'5.87"W

You'll see just how small it is.
