I was honored and actually scared a bit when I was invited to attend a buffalo roundup recently.
These are just a few shots of the day, and honestly once you get in the field with the bison, it's quite overwhelming to think about taking a photo AND to NOT get on the pointy end of the bison's horns.
They were quite feisty that day as the Buffalo Wrangler was sifting the babies from the mommas. Not a happy day for either party I might add.
Also, this is done on foot and not on horseback because the buffalo will charge and gore the horses. The bison "tolerate" humans on foot better. I was only charged once- thus the lack of a lot of film being wasted in the field.
Note- my scanner seems to be adding a weird line on the left of some of the negs, not sure why- but the negs are clean.
