It's been a while since I took a look at prices for in-date Fujifilm instant peel apart film, but recent events and discussions on this fine forum prompted me to check the 7dayshop website to see how much they were knocking 'em out for these days (Type 100 size only, they don't currently sell the larger 4x5 size unfortunately). I was very pleasantly surprised to see the following prices for 10 packs:

Fuji Instant Film FP-100B Black and White - Gloss Finish: GBP9.79 (STOCK-PLENTY)
Fuji Instant Film FP-100C Colour - Gloss Finish: GBP7.75 (STOCK-PLENTY)

The prices for the colour film actually decrease slightly if you buy multiple packs.

The thing is, I'm now in a bit of a quandary. Are these prices lower than usual? Will they increase anytime soon? Or are they always this low? As I said I haven't checked 7dayshop for a good couple of years (been living off a huge stockpile of film) so don't have a frame of reference. The prices are cheaper than places like Calumet (perhaps unsurprisingly), but if they're always this cheap I don't want to buy a few packs and then not use them for ages. Would rather buy some in 6-12 months when I finally need them.

Thoughts?

Funny, I went to order some today (the 'how much instant film have you got' thread made me feel inadequate

but decided to wait til next pay day.

And the prices have been like that for a long time, it's one of the reason's I love that film.

Last time I went to the camera store, all FP film was hovering around 27$can...

I don't shoot that much instant, but keep a couple packs on hand always.
(I have no stash of instant but hoard Fuji NEOPAN 120)

From Adorama in the USA.
FP 100B $9.75 out of stock (and been out for the past three weeks that I know of)
FP100C $ 10.95 in stock

The local camera shops (thieves) usually add on 5-6 dollars a pack, so I normally order it online.

yeah fuji has always been priced well. they increased 10% about a year ago. was less than $9 for a pack of 3000...which is still like $9.25 now.

oddly enough, the stuff costs twice as much in japan. 1700Y for 3000, 2300Y for 400C silk.

In the US the prices seem to be increasing. You can find some FP-100c for under $8 early last year. The prices seem to be going up slightly every quarter. Many places are in the $9-10 now.

I just bought some fresh film for $9.20 a pack post paid. Looks like the days of $7 fresh fuji film is over for the US. I just hope it don't go much higher.

A bit of topic necrophilia here, but I just bought myself a 600se with a 75mm and a pola back and can`t wait to try it out!
Therefore wondering where you good people shop you FP100C these days? I see 7dayshop is not longer selling it.
Over here in Oslo my local camera shop is only stocking Impossible and they are asking £22 a pack! That`s just to much!

Hmm,

found a seller on Amazon - 20 packs totaled at about £160 ≈ £8 each which is acceptable.
Free shipping in the UK so I guess some old friend of mine needs to do me a favor pretty soon

Mr Cad in the UK claims to have bought up all European stock of the Fuji 100 series peel apart, so if you want a steady supply I'd look at them. They sell via their own website and on eBay (and probably Amazon too).

Same hear in Vancouver. I last ordered it through B&H and it still worked out almost half the price with shipping and exchange.

I just placed an order with Adorama, and the price was 5.99 a box.
With added shipping it worked out to about 7 dollars a box.

None of the camera stores (we only have one left) in Albuquerque carry it any longer and they also don't carry Ilford XP2.
On the shelf the other day they had Kodak Tri-x, some Ilford Panf, some HP5, and some FP4 in 35mm and 120 size.

The guy that owns the store told me he only orders about 100 rolls of film a month now.
Sad.

for fuji stuff, if you don't have a contact in the USA, personally I always find ebay the cheapest by a long way.

Yeah not sure why Fuji peel-apart is so cheap in the US. Typically $9 for 3000 and $11-$12 for 100C. I usually buy expired 100c for $6 a pack, works exactly the same. In Japan, it costs about $20 for a pack of 100c. The Silk is like 2300 yen, which is almost $28!

Actually, it's the case with almost everything. America has such an economic impact on the worldwide economy that companies feel compelled to sell the US products at close to cost just to avoid getting a bad rap. Also, the amount of competition helps lower prices.

Joining the rant. I bought my last 5-pack of 100C for $31. Same supplier three months later is $49 (USD). What gives? I'm fearful its on the unspoken chopping block.

I also bought some fp100c for 6.5 dollars a pack, but then adding the costs of bringing them to Europe plus taxes it doubles! At the end I am paying around 11 Euros for fp100c and fp3000b packs (door to door in Spain)... envisioning the end of fuji instant film I have already bought 150 packs and plan to keep buying. I do not want to repeat what happened with the termination of the fp100b, fp100b45, fp100c45 and fp3000b45

As long as the ¨100¨ pack price is under the IP price I will keep happily buying them.

I'm stocking up too, I've been selling lots of stuff so I can do a big 3000b order soon. Anyone got any experience with older 3000b? Normally Polaroid within 10 or so years is ok, but IVe never used expired 3000b. I'm hoping to buy about 30 packs. I'm in the UK but order via a friend on the states.

About the ageing of the the fp3000b, I noticed in some expired 3000b pack 3 ¨dots¨, medium size in one of the sides, let me see if I can find one, not sure if it is because the ageing, I think It also happened to me with some chocolate film, yes, also including.

usually when I see repetitive marks like that, I would blame dirty rollers, but it could well be the expired film... expired 100c seems to last years with no noticeable changes... but I had read that faster film does not age so well, so I don't want to buy loads for it to go bad... but I think it will, I have a fear of the day it is discontinued...

really like the cholocate shot though!

Tk - are the dots only on the expired 3000b? The colour stuff seems to change very little over time...

It can be worst than some dots along the picture, some of my Chocolate pictures almost vanished. On the other hand I do not think the dots are related to dirty rollers, at least not according to my experience as I am always shooting with the same Land camera. I also bought 100 packs of fp3000b and I am not giving it away

there are some rumours that by the end of the year Fuji instant film might be discontinued... according to some obscure sources

I think it is inevitable that they will disconue peel-apart film at some point, but everytime there are rumours about it, Fuji denies it and keeps producing.

Yes I agree. It is difficult as I want to keep buying and at the same time stock up to have a future stash, but I don't want it to go bad... I'm currenty selling lots of stuff to build a film fund so when I need to I have a bit of cash to buy a load...

The information that comes from Fuji is often mixed and conflicting, but hopefully they'll be producing for a while yet...

I think it is inevitable that they will disconue peel-apart film at some point, but everytime there are rumours about it, Fuji denies it and keeps producing.

I hope you are right, better later than sooner...

I buy my 3000B and 100C from The Film Photography Project. Usually around $10 a pack. They also usually have batch tested 100B on offer, though twice the price. And if you are lucky a few Polaroid peel aparts too, Blue for instance.

Hi Ezzie, thanks for reminding me about the Philmography project, I ordered few 100b packs, well some more than few... wherever else I have seen the 100b is more expensive... and they have film 108 from year 2000 that in my experience has been a fantastic film, still I have some packs left
