lovely, beck!
amarillos are one of my favourites.
we had one this year that grew to over 3 ft high...every day we'd guess how much it would have grown by the next morning :)

just got this film back today and am going to have to order some more asap, it's so yummy.

Gone for the dark and mysterious look on a couple, with a smattering of duo-toning in PS.

M6 and Canon 35mm lens and another stand developed roll of Tri-X.
Edit - and yellow filter

Lovely stuff so far!
Vicky, your portraits are just amazing, I love them :)

I have been off work ill for a few days, which I always just find mind numblingly dull,  so I decided to have a bit of a play with some Fade to Black Polaroid ATZ. I thought it was a bit silly to start with, but actually had loads of fun with it in the end! (excuse the little bit of photoshoppery to make a composite image  :-[)

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Some fantastic work going on this week.

Clare, Fade to Black is something I really want to try, love what you've done there.  I'd be really torn between stopping the development and scanning the various stages.

Seeing all this great work brings to my mind how much I missed Filmwasters while I was away.  Choppert:  I'd bet that  Wenn's Tree would make an excellent large print someday--strong stuff.

I'm still working on getting the stand development thing down.  This last roll was a little better.  The bottom edges of the negatives (as it sits in the tank--left edge here) are still too dense but the extra bit of agitation seemed to help.  I will try a bit more next time.

Hawkeye Brownie with Tri-x in Rodinal 10ml per liter, gently agitated for 30 seconds at the beginning and then agitated again for 15 seconds after 30 minutes.  Stop bath and fixer after 60 minutes.  I think that I will agitate three times on my next try.

We took a drive to the most Eastern point of Japan, and for some reason I felt I was channeling our Leon:

We stood on the tsunami wall and watched the winter rains roll in off the sea. Polaroid 600SE. Type-665 (expired).

(Oops. Sorry about the size, a bit bigger than recommended for some reason.)

Great set again folks! Skj.

This weekend seems everybody is inspired!  :o  Vicky, as usual,  :D just great, Snewbery, Zen image! The flying dragons! Diane, ageless image, Timmon,  love those venice images.

Somebody was talking about fade to black, I tried myself couple of weeks ago, first time. I was amazed when the image disappeared! I did knot know that would happen  ::) so now I shoot and run to the scanner!!

calbisu, they look great.  Did you know that you can stop the development by taking the film apart ?  it's what intend to do when I try it out.

Terrific images everyone!

Unfortunately I only have a test film here. But I'm showing the images anyway as it's my first self developed roll. And in Caffenol-C!

Shot using Janet's Ensign box camera on Fomapan 100.

I feel like a proud father looking through this thread - well done my children, you have learned well.

I've got a cold which is making me feel very condescending today - does it show at all? ;)

Skj - I'm thinking photo-prius.  A skj-leon hybrid (skoreon?) or pola-broni mash-up (Broniroid?).  A Markleon in it's rawest form - a rare beast indeed, but well worth the long trek to find one.

too much codeine-based cold medication  -  I'd better go sleep it off.

Some crackers here, as always, which slightly tempers the awful news about Fujifilm cutting their output. Bah!

Anyway, for me I was home early on Friday for once and managed to whip out the Land Cam, bang in some expired 125i and take some snaps of some freesias which were on the way out. The light was (to my mind) very "Slater-esque" and I overexposed slightly because I liked what I saw from one of the test shots. I have 7 or 8 which came out really well, but this is probably my fave. Several shots came out really sharp, but I like softness of this one and the weird yellow patch at the top left (expired film working its magic).

I used a circa 10X close-up filter (sounds grand, but it's actually a front lens from my Grandfather's old binoculars), so I had to shoot blind and guess at the focus. Turns out it's 17cm when set as close-in as poss on the camera.  I had the Land Cam on a tripod and the flowers in a vase balanced precariously on my kids' play kitchen unit. My son, Joe, was busying himself underneath the tripod during 'the shoot' making tea for me and wobbling the kitchen unit so much that:

  • I feared for the vase and also for Joe (it's a very heavy vase!)
  • At about 25th/sec exposure time I had to choose my moments with the shutter very carefully  ;D

...anyway, I'm pleased to report that the camera, the vase and my son all survived the experience.

'Twas my birthday yesterday (Sunday). Deanne bought me 'Susan Sontag on Photography'. I bought myself (through the kids) an OM10 off ebay. Loaded it up with a roll of Legacy 400 and went for a walk by Loch Seaforth and took these pics. :)

Sure thing.

You take your first shot as normal. Then by gently turning the rewind you check that the film is tight.
Then you hold the rewind button in and the rewind knob still as you very slowly cock the shutter.

You'll feel the film advance but will notice that the counter doesn't move on.
Then you take your second exposure.

and you know Robert, isn't he your Mum's bro?

Stan's my uncle - and a very nice chap he is too!

Tried that on the M6 before but not with a slow film advance - that might be the trick!

Aoluain - that is a superb landscape. Truly very nice - an uncontrived sense of peace like that is hard to get from such a 'straight' landscape - really very clever & visually stunning.

Calbisu - Love the lamps!  I do believe you can sit it in the sun for a period of time and the image will return.  I have a few boxes of fade-to-black but have not yet played with it.

tinm@an - I LOVE that 1st Venice image - what a dream!
