I went a couple of years ago and loved it. You could probably fit it all in in one day, but I was grateful for the extra half day I had, which meant I could have another look at the stuff that had interested me the day before.

ah I only wish I could drop everything and go to Paris - my favorite city.  Looking at the website and looking at the exhibitors, I was knocked to me knees by the Camera Obscura pinholes.   clicking on artistes and then Alexey Titarenko. wow - amazing.  They're  the kind of photos that can make you inquire about your own intention.

Sure, I immediately thought. time to take the zero image 2000 out, but it's really his vision and not mine -  and what a wonderful vision he has !!

Gregor your so right about those pinholes, they're quite increadible. I can't even work out how he did the two on the strairs, but I take my hat off.

I could easily go home and burn my pinhole in honour!

Andrea and I talked about titarenko quite a bit in our podcast ... He doesnt use pinholes though - it's all 6x6 slr long exposures then lots of messing about in the darkroom.  you can see a documentary on him at his website http://www.alexeytitarenko.com/about_doc.html

Thanks for the link. Amazing work. For some odd reason as I was watching him shoot I was hoping he was shooting with a kiev 88 instead of a Hassy ;-)

Thanks, that's wetted my appetite. Thanks for the Titarenko links too. I envy his vision and practice. It almost makes one give up making pictures, when you discover someone like that.

Not being a heavy connoisseur of photography books. mags, etc., I made a rare purchase of Titarenko's book, "Photographs."  While may some it trite or silly, the work of few photographers can make me so humble as to want to cry for the sure beauty of the work.

It arrived in today's mail and I've been glued to it for hours:

One of my favourites of all time. Influenced me greatly. And a lovely book too. One photog I'd love to meet sometime. Just so that some of his vision might rub off on me

Sorry late reply due to technical problems. (thanks for sorting it) Exhibition was great. A whole days saturation of amazing imagery. Would recommend it if in Paris at that time of year. Needless to say took several cameras on the trip. Discovered the Parc des Butte Chaumont. An amazing place built in the 1860s. On Sundays it's full of joggers and dog walkers. Attached pic taken (Olympus Trip + TriX) in the entrance to the artificial cave. Definitely going back there again.
