snewberry, I love his face and relaxed pose.

A couple I took today (one day I'll sort out a proper backdrop).
This is Maisie.

Nice portraits Vicky. I especially like the second one (she has a very nice nose :) seriously)

Lovely portraits, vicky. Not sure what you think of as a 'proper' backdrop; I like the understated visual tension  created by the soft, floating rectangles of color in the background...

I guess I just need to get a bigger cloth, I'm just always hanging something up to cover the radiator, sometimes it's okay, sometimes it's not...i suppose the danger is they all start looking the same...

B&W portraits I always enjoy, but that second one in color Vicky, really comes off well. A definite addition to your portfolio. The colors, focus, position of model, not to mention the freckles, all combine to make a very pleasing photograph. Nice. Thanks. Skj.

Something I found on http://www.DIYphotography.net (I think) was to get a painter's drop cloth at the hardware store. The fabric ones are single piece (no stitching in the center)  and can be either dyed, stained or painted with just about anything :)

Don't! They look more interesting this way (environmental): Casual, great color. I think they're terrific as they are.

Baseball scholar:  Sam and the Yankees (Kodak Portra 160 NC). Shot on the Hassie during what I oh so foolishly believed was the World Series (back in May)...
