The Actual Weekend (17/18 Oct)
« on: October 18, 2009, 04:18:42 PM »
Here are a couple that have been sitting in my camera since June.  Only just finished the roll and developed them ... things have been bad!

I thought it would never start!
Took this snap on the 8x10 with paper neg and contact printed early this morning - both Silverprint proof paper - as a proof. Did four snaps in the cafe at Leverburgh/An-t-Ob on the Isle of Harrisand gave all the diners a little entertainment. This is Aonghas - the waiter and a snapper too [ see http://stargazerslounge.blogspot.com/ ]. The chef go fed up his image wasn't being captured so had to do his too as it was his birthday'

I've been stuck indoors all week-end, so here's a selfie from a roll I developed last night.

Hi Leon,
I love that minimalist composition and the subtle tones of those images.

I actually have something for this thread which is exciting for me as I usually manage to contribute to 1 'weekend' thread every 6 months. In true style I don't have the images on my person as of yet (they're on my computer at home waiting to be edited and re-sized), but here's a (digital) placeholder for now:

My son Joe in our kitchen with some glorious sunlight. Land Camera 360 + Polacolor 125i film (which for once looked stunning). I also scanned some of the goop too so if I can get anything decent from them I'll post them.

Andrea - i really love the quality of those paper neg shots. I wonder is that something you can only do with LF? or is that a really dumb question?

I have done them in a box brownie - only they were a bit sharp for me :-). Oh, and small.

so many fantastic pictures...particularly love Aonghas!

been too busy to be taking anything recently but had a mad flurry yesterday and today.

i've got b/w film to come back, this was with fuji 160...didn't particularly notice how obviously absent the arms are in the black cardi but i think i have a couple to come where i asked her to take it off.
i do like it in colour too, i must just be in a b/w mood.

Here - finally -are some scans of the actual prints. The light really works with the 125i for a change (usually that film gives a weird cast - I buy it cos it's cheap and I use it to practise with).

Joe in the kicthen and Amy on the sofa. The blur to the left in the Amy shot is where Joe was sitting when I pressed 'Go' on the camera...at which point he jumped up and ran towards me leaving a cloud in his wake; you can just make out the side of his head and his ear on the extreme left of the snap.

A bit late...

More tractors, but remember, a ploughing match is a grand day out in rural Oxfordshire. :-\

Bit of  red theme going on. Ektar 100 which really seems to like these reds.
