Ansco Clipper & 120 film
« on: August 04, 2009, 06:25:24 PM »
Just bought this cute little camera at the second hand store for $5. bucks..it came with a 616 spool so a no brainer about using 120  film and just leaving the spool in the take up side..My question..what size are the negatives..and how much space to leave between shots? If anyone has  any insight to this I figured  this would be the place to find out..any information would be apreciated..

http://www.merrillphoto.com/AnscoClipper.htm  with photos on how to modify 120 spools for this camera
http://cameras.bretculp.com/pages/clipper.htm negative size is apparently 2 x 2 1/2 inches.

Have fun with it :) I just scored an original Diana today. Already shot 2 pictures :)

I had an original Diana - when they were first sold. I was 11 at the time. That was, ahem, 41 years ago. It broke and probably ended up in the bin as I hadn't yet honed my camera fixing skills. I would never have guessed that 40 odd years later I'd be taking part in an on-line discussion with someone wanting one.

Ain't life weird.

To say the least!  "everything old is new again" isn't there an old  song with those lyrics?  But oh so true!...oh no..just realized I spelled appreciate wrong!  My daughter would be horrified!

Yes the Diana I scored appears to have been bought, left in its box and tissue for several decades and then sold around. And no it didn't come from ebay, but from a friend.

Diane, if this one works, my friend has another one he's looking for a good home for it... I'll get going testing this practically-new one (the other one has already been tested). If it's okay, I won't have to swap for the tested one and that'll be available ;)
