Well, I went and did it

Please don't revoke my filmwasters membership.  I order'd this:

I see it as my color camera.  I really have not hit upon a film or a manner of using my M2 for color.  I happily shoot Velvia in my Dianas, black & white in my M2 (mostly Neopan 1600), but haven't figured out how to take more "normal" color pics.  I'm thinking this is the camera for that.  Or, so the rationalization goes.

Good luck to you.  One of the main reasons I converted to film from digital is that I found the colour so much better, more character etc.    I'd use my digital SLR a lot more now but I know if I got a good shot I'd be longing for it to have been taken on film.

That looks like a nice camera Hook-s .... it's just not the kind of thing we set up the forum to discuss.  Please dont feel I'm throwing a strop or anything ... I dont want to make anyone feel alienated - but here is a little pointer to our housekeeping section :-

This forum is all about using film; film of any size, shape and colour as long as it's....well, film. We've got absolutely nothing against non-film cameras, but this ain't the place to talk about them. Nuff said - hopefully.

I suspect we'd all be comfortable with a post about a digital camera if it were to spark a little light discussion about film use though.

hope that clears things up.  :)

That's totally cool.  Just got a little excited.  I think of myself as a film camera guy and had been resisting getting any digital camera until I found one that has the shooting characteristics of film cameras, particularly small size and weight.  Digital cameras, particularly DSLR's, have gone so far away from the film camera experience that it's nice to see one that seems to go back to that, or at least one that can be used in that way.  So, maybe the connection to film is rather tenuous, but for me that was the motivation in purchasing it.

Please provide a link to any uploads you do outside FW with this as I would be interested in seeing what you do.    What I've seen of your film stuff has been great.
