I mean, I love my digicam like I love my electric toothbrush - nice, well designed, user of electrickery. But, for dynamic range photographs, I prefer the no filter, no plugin, no post-camera tweaking route. Not because of any great philosophical
film is better than digital twaddle, but simply because it is easier, just as fast, and the results look more natural.
Particularly over those make your eyes bleed HRD aberrations.
These are from my favorite color film - FujiPro400 (PN400N). A C41 reversal, straight to CD unbalanced, unsharpened, and uncropped, from the lab next to my work at lunchtime in 45 minutes. FujiPro400 as at least a four stop latitude (+/- 2 stops) if you're technically minded.
