Weekend Thread: May 7-10
« on: May 08, 2009, 03:19:19 AM »
Howdy everyone,
Here are 5 quadtones, all taken during my lunch hour last week. The camera is an Olympus Trip 35 and the film is Ilford XP2. The quadtones were made in Photoshop CS4.
I picked up a Ricoh GR1s at work this week, and hope to get out and use it this weekend :D

Great pics from everyone as usual. Top notch. Wavebeat ... I really like the last shot - the crop is perfectly ambiguous and there is a fragmentary feel to the content that works perfectly. Slightly Parr-esque, but not derivative.

Thanks guys!

Ann - i really love that shot too. You know when you have this idea of how you want an image to turn out in your head? Well that picture came out exactly the way i wanted it to look in my brain. I love it when that happens :)

Actually taken on Monday, so not quite the weekend.
I went to see Charlie Kaufman's new film Syncedoche New York - Excellent by the way.

As he is a bit of an idol of mine (having written some of my fav films: Being John Malkovich, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Adaptation) I couldn't resist sneeking into the press line up. It got some funny looks!

Pushed FP4 in ID11. Leica IIIF.

Lovely stuff everyone. Top marks to Andrea for devving in Coffeenol (if that's in fact what it was). I tried it once; lots of fun.

I was in Bulgaria last weekend with some friends. Only took one camera, a 35mm SLR, but shot 4 films over the 2 days so will post anything good that comes of it. May take a few months though as I have 16 rolls from Cornwall in April that still haven't been processed.

A few more from the other half of my "weekend" (Sunday). All were taken in Southeast Portland with a Ricoh GR1s and Kodak Ektar 100 film.

from an attempted portrait session last week; working with a local theatre, the cast, director and staff are not professional just people very passionate about theatre and acting. Below four members of the cast of the play "Popcorn": a woman trying to charm her way into being an actress; an estranged wife getting divorced from her famous husband director; 2 young serial murderers

yay! i finally have pictures!
Friends' wedding was on Saturday. I finally got my darkroom set up today, first time since I moved back in February.

I'm glad I'm not doing the official wedding pictures. I barely took any... only 1 roll... then I've whittled it down to ... these two.
