Not sure if these apply...but I found these 20 year old prints. Shot with an Argus rangefinder.

Here's one more, from a roll of Kodachrome taken last month with a Nikkormat FTN and a Nikkor 50mm 1.4 lens.
Ed, Skorj, et. al.: thanks for the kind words about my recent photos :D

I know I don't post stuff too often. But since I had a roll to finish, I did a few setups. This is one for all the mono-maniacs out there... shot on color film :) as usual.

Also one color shot...

Hope you enjoy.

top notch stuff still coming in - keep it going!

francois.  Excellent rare post by you.  you should post your pics more often.  The one with the insects almost borders on the surreal.

Thanks Leon...
I know I should post more often... but I have to keep the level up ;)
As for insects, it's the second time I do something with them. For some odd reason, it always seems to work well for me. The first one I did years ago was using one giant spider... it made all the arachnophobes freak out  ;D

I love those 3 shots, Francois....you could take a similar setup to the insect photo and take it using a more grungy/low-fi process and more directly reference those Old School surrealist images; might be a fun (if possibly pointless project), but anyway, good stuff.

Hookstrapped: is that a musical score I see in yr photo? Are you a classical musician perhaps?

I have one that was shot on Neopan 400 as a Trichrome (3 colour filters)

I moved the shadow in the B/G to give off register fringed colours.

Leon my full modus is here:
http://photo-utopia.blogspot.com/2007/11/colour-images-from-b-film.html

The way it works is based on the work of James Clark Maxwell in the 1860's
Three exposures are made on mono film one through a red one green and one blue, (I always shoot them in that order)
The three resulting exposures are combined to make a colour image in photoshop, although you could do it as three projected images with the same filters over the projectors (obviously you need B&W trans)
Lots of photographers use (or have used) this method Sergi Prokudin Gorskii is one well known one from the 1910 period and Henri Gaud has a Trichromie blog (in French)

"J to the A to the N. E. T!!"  :D ;D   Welcome back, Janet. I love these still lifes.  They are a great mix of sharpness, grunge, lovely composition, stillness yada yada yada....anyway, I like them a lot. What's the process you've used on the 2 b/w prints?

Mark (Photo_Utopia): very intrigued by your process. Will read up on it and may get back with some questions.

It's basically the same as making colour photos for tri-gum/gum-over-cyanotype tri-colour. I've experimented with it with lighting gels over a box brownie and got a similar effect with a cloud to Mark's shadow... and weirdly I can't find my photoshopped example anywhere  ??? You put a Red gel/filter over the camera, calculate for proper exposure, take picture, then put a Green filter over it, calculate for proper exposure take picture, then put a Blue filter (a very dark blue one, hard to find) and recalculate proper exposure and take a picture. Then that translates to CMY (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow) So you print the Red as Cyan, the Green as Magenta and the Blue as Yellow.
Trust me, this does all work out apparently.

Most gum printers these days use digital negatives though. Doing colour separation is a bit easier that way...

And it's something I've wanted to do for a long time but I'm starting to think I don't have the patience for.

Ahhh, lovely to be back Ed. Glad you like the still lifes, I'm working on a whole set. I've been taking them on my Rolleicord then scanning the neg to produce digital negatives on OHP sheets. The top, brown, image is using Argyrotype and the blue one is cyanotype. I got both solutions from fotospeed and they're really simple to use. The part I love is being able to paint the solution onto watercolour paper, I've always wished I could paint so it gives me the illusion that I am. I love the randomness of the brush strokes. These scans don't really show the prints off properly, they're only 4 by 4 inches and the texture of the paper really adds to them.

Mark (Photo_Utopia): very intrigued by your process. Will read up on it and may get back with some questions.
The process was used for a long time by newspapers. They used to have special process cameras with mirrors and filters built-in that would simultaneously expose three sheets of film. They were used extensively for offering their readers color pictures of their favorite artists that would pose in the studio. The cameras were big and heavy so there was no possibility to use them elsewhere. The big advantage was they offered instant color process separations which was greatly appreciated by the printers.

I first saw this in the old Time-Life encyclopedia... quite an interesting process.

Vicky thankyou for resurrecting this thread.

It seems that there are a lot of gems hidden within this web site, that we need reminding of.

I did see this first time round but didn't have the courage to post anything at that time.

The attached was taken some 10 years ago when the company I was working for decided to close the office I was working for down.  I was involved in closing it and collecting and disposing of the redundant equipment.  I cannot help but think that the must be parallels occurring today in the current econmic climate.

Well I finally did a still life, I was keen to use the LF camera at work and the day I was shooting it was pouring with rain so I used the studio. I have become a non fan of flash but had to go with it as the studio is in the basement.

You can also tell from the image that I wasn't sure what I wanted from the image. Well on on on to the next try
