Weekenders Thread # 1456
« on: September 28, 2008, 11:53:01 PM »
Hey, is it really the case that no-one's snuck in here and started a "What did you shoot this weekend?" thread yet? Cool, I get to kick it off for the first time. Here's a snap from last weekend. I was at a wedding and had been asked to supplement the official photographer with some b/w, blurry, filmy stuff (I'm sure a lot of you have done the same in the past, it's certainly not the first time I've been asked to do it). Anyway, THIS weekend has been given over to scanning, sorting etc. and here's one I like that is in a state where it's ready enough to post.

Cool! I did a holga wedding once too. It was probably the least stressful of the two weddings because I wasn't the only one shooting and the bride knew and enjoyed my B&W work (other wedding was brother-in-law's and my husband doesn't know how to say no and it was all 35mm colour stuff  >:()

Um... I don't think I took anything this weekend nor printed anything :( I might go into town today and pick up some more paper for cyanotypes and stuff like that. Need to start making christmas cards and I signed myself up for another round of 30 cards in the postcard exchange on another website  :-\

No shooting here.  It poured all weekend.  But I did manage to snag a Leica M2 body on ebay for $467.   :)

Holga weddings, that's  a really good idea,  if this image is anything to go by it worked really out well, I would love to try one.

Here is my weekends work, took these last week on the way to work. Tried to print them last night with limited success,  I think they need a little toning.

I love all of the above, jealous.
My efforts are below. They were taken two weeks ago in Marrakech but scanned this weekend. There was no selection process, just grabbed a strip to try in the scanner!

Anyhow, here they are:

Here are three from this past weekend, all taken in my neighborhood, the first one in my kitchen with a Hasselblad 500C and 80mm Planar, the others with a Nikon F2 and Nikkor 28mm 2.0.

i spent the weekend in california, around palm springs, salton sea and the desert to the north. i just got home awhile ago and have barely scratched the surface of what i shot...at least 150 shots between polas and film. i went nonstop for 4 days! one strip of desert was literally 20 miles of abandoned homes!
here are a couple from the kowa six (which i'm in love with...and proof that i can use a 'real' camera!) and the polaroid zip. i'll be posting stuff on flickr for over a month, i'm sure.

Wow! some amazing work above.  I love the portraits, and the wedding photo by Mr. Wenn is delightful.

Spent the weekend on the road,
went to Taos, Santa Fe, NM,  and then San Luis just inside the Colorado border.

Here's a 4 x 5 pinhole shot from a simple oak box I made a few weeks ago.
Just a box you jam a sheet of film in,
nothing fancy like a film holder or anything.

Not exactly last weekend, but close enough I suppose.

Some pics I took for a youth orchestra.
