For me, the rumor mill and polaroid always equal dubious results...

I'll believe it when I see it...

Maybe their zink isn't selling like they thought and they want back in?

interesting that nobody is willing to name the source of this news...

OK, pack films only to be manufactured by a third party who presumably bought the license. ... but it's a start.  :)

Even though I really want 665 and 55   :-\

I have to agree with the thoughts of the rumour mill on that thread. If it is true, it's probably just Fuji churning out stuff for Polaroid. It might even end up being exactly the same Fuji pack film but with the higher polaroid pricetag (or maybe just to use up polaroid's metal packfilm holders as opposed to the cheaper to make plastic ones that Fuji use).
In the end, the 3 types described are all similar to what we had replacements for (Fuji FP100C, FP3000B, FP100B). Nothing fancy like 665/55 with a negative or anything... and still no replacement for integral :( I love my sx-70 so much, i will miss polaroid when it is properly gone.

I suppose we will have to wait and see. I was not happy with the Fuji film, building on bad experiences with it and several packs later. I dunno really. It just doesn't seem to want to work properly in any of my pack film cameras. The tabs are super difficult to pull and rip on contact. So naturally I ripped every single tab off and enjoyed my fit. After all, it is only film, right? Wasted film....

I am a 667 conasore and even the mere mention of this type film carrying on is pleasing to the ears. A number of these films, including the 667, can still be purchased through the photo lab I use and can make an order at any time.

I saw Elvis buying a cheeseburger last night too...

(Hopefully, unlike other rumors this one may eventuate.)

...in HDR, the new black velvet...scary, kids! We had no less than 10 people either call or come into Pro Photo today in search of 600 film...one was from a hospital...yikes! (Uh, sorry, sir, that major operation will have to wait...we're out of Polaroid...)

The ones I want are 665 & 55, though I'm happy that other might get what they're looking for.

Maybe the P/N films cost too much to make. Or maybe these particular films have bigger industrial useage and that is why they're bringing them back. Maybe artists aren't a big enough purchasing bloc.

But I don't see anything on Polaroid's site about it.

I have it on good faith that this is actually a factual rumor...

we shall see... and in the end it is sounding like re-branded Fuji instant films. Either way I'm happy if it works out.

March of '09 is the supposed release date for this.

Well fingers crossed that there is an element of truth in this. As for type of film I'll take anything of the pack variety.
