I'm guessing that 'Q4 08' means the 4th quarter of 08, meaning the fall?

I'm guessing that will change as people stock up on it. I now have a stack of boxes of type 55 that is over 3 feet high (yes, I went crazy). It all expires in November though, so I'll have a big project ahead of me for the rest of the year.

well that a real kick in the stomach. I think what upsets me most is that there is an obvious and sustainable market for these products, but the per unit profits are not high enough for peters group.

on the plus side, i'm seeing tons of polaroid on ebay, much going for a decent price. and a lot more of stuff you don't see much of, like 779. everybody is trying to take advantage of the situation and sell what they have, i guess.
except buyers are paying way over the price for 600. and you can still get the stuff online for like 11 bucks a pack.

I got my 55 in from ecamerafilms.com today... happy sight, but was all marked with some nasty stickers stating "Product being Discontinued" on the front! Grr...

Yeah- I've found some decent prices lately for 669, 665, expired 4x5 films, etc. The 600 is going like crazy, and people are paying more so much more than retail! Doesn't make too much sense really. Plus, that's the film that will likely be around longest into next year I would bet. Better to stock up on 600 after everyone gets their fill and prices go down a bit.

Some of the other films on the other hand, are more likely to start disappearing sooner (eg. 55), and I'm willing to pay slightly inflated prices for a bit of insurance!

i have quite a bit stocked up, but yeah i'd imagine that the type 100s (669, etc.) and 600 will be fairly available at least up to two years after it is discontinued, mostly on ebay, for close to normal prices. you figure there are probably tens of thousands of packs out there right now, mostly just being stored. like the guy i bought the case of uv id film from who has 48 cases (50 packs a case) of the stuff and prices it to sell.
i like expired film, so i'm not too concerned about 5+ year old 669 and 667 (667 seems to still work after 20+ years in my experience). i think the oldest 600 i've had that wasn't fully dried up was 12 years old...around '96. the big stuff will be the toughest to find. already less of it and less market saturation. those that want it, keep, it. plus it's the first to go according to the site.
10 years from now, who knows. i figure the peelapart will be dirt cheap because it's not the popular film (and there are already alternatives), and 600 will be like time zero, with people spending $35-$40 a pack.
