Sold three snaps!
« on: February 07, 2008, 10:24:07 PM »
I had three pictures in the Arts Centre in Stonoway as part of the island's local's show. One was straight silver gelatin sepia toned print; another a tea stained silver gelatin contact print and the last an inkjet. Found out today I sold the lot which is nice and for a reasonable amount too. Amazing what it has done for my photographic confidence - although I now see faults in all three images :-(
Hope you don't mind me sharing this with you all.

Not at all... Thanks for sharing and congratulations. The words `tea stained` and `sold` particularly enjoyable. Share the work here perhaps too? Skj.

How exciting and more money in your pocket to make more prints.
How cool is that?!?!?

Congrats on the sale!
As for the faults, don't worry about it. The buyer probably didn't see them.

There's always the problem of always finding something wrong with a print... you have to let it go sometimes :)

Thanks everso all. Most kind. I feel kind of embaressed now.
This show is great as it ranges from paintings and sculptures from such as Willi Fulton http://www.williefulton.com/ and Iain Brady to childrens drawings and people like myself with a sprinkling of Photos - one by Colin Robertson I bought. It s a wonderful silver print of a pair of scissors :-)
My snaps were this one on pigment inkjet

My, oh my ... if you had to go to Azerbaijan for your chemistry, I hope you got a good price for the print.   ;D

Very nice effect.

I'm a bit late to this one - but congratulations Andrea. The idea of your prints adorning the walls of someone else's house must be very satisfying.

I wonder if Willie Fulton could be a distant relative of mine? Fulton is my middle name, and was my dad's, too. I believe it was his grandmother's maiden name.

Well done, Andrea and thanks for sharing the news here (and for posting scans of the snaps). 'Tea' and 'sold' in the same post is certainly a better combo than 'tea' and 'soiled', although 'sold' and 'soiled' might possibly have been the best combo of them all  ;)

Congrats!!

Cracking images,  first class, no surprise they sold. Well done.  Nice to see Tea toning is getting popular again, its so cheap and easy.
