Rollei Retro rebate edge unmarked?
« on: January 02, 2025, 09:34:26 PM »
Just out of curiosity....
I have a brand new bulk roll of Rollei Retro 400S that I bought from Adorama and in doing my first test with it, I see that after it has been developed there are no marking on the edge that indicate film speed, mfg. or anything to indicate who's film it is.
There are numbers, that's it.

The film developed perfectly BTW, so no issue there.

I feel that it's more the case with bulk loads now than it used to be.
When I buy Foma, there's absolutely nothing printed on the edges.

Film is the vinyl record of photography.

For Rollei and Foma bulk film this is normal. Some have numbering, others nothing. Nothing wrong with the film though. I just shot a roll of Fomapan 400 bulk film, the edges are totally blank.
