Weekend 20th of January
« on: January 20, 2023, 08:26:06 PM »
I just developed a roll that was in the camera for way too long. I took this one last night in the bitter cold (haven't been that cold in a long time).
Fingers couldn't feel the shutter button. It was at night. I couldn't see the controls without a flashlight.
Looks like there was something going-on at St.-Andrews church, so I stopped and took this one.
Exposed for 8 seconds on expired Fuji Superia 400 (President's Choice branded) exposed at EI 160.

Last Christmas photo, I promise.  Antique Santa that belonged to my wife's grandmother.  I think it originally had skis and poles.  Crown Graphic 34 with Kodak Ektar 127mm f/4.7 lens.  Adox CHS 100 II Developed in Rodinal 1:50 for 11:30 minutes.  Exposure: f/32, 120 seconds

That is one creepy Santa!
Mom says that if she had seen that when she was a kid, she would never have believed in him  ;D

And yes, it did have skis and poles...

Careful what you say about him, you might get a lump of coal next Christmas.  He does look like he's had a rough life.

OK, so we have a church and a Santa, only this guy is missing. This huge neon sign which says: "Jesus, Light of the World" is protected under a preservation act. I don't think it is lit anymore, but fifty years ago it was the first you would see when you stepped out of the railway station at night.

Reminds me a lot of the huge Jesus Saves sign that's in downtown Los Angeles

I needed to scan some of my old photos from the 90's. This one is from my time in the RNZAF.
