Topic: weekend August 20...early but who's keeping track?

It's not the weekend just yet, but it will be soon...

My offering is a couple of shots on the expired Agfa Vista film I got from Irv.
I shot it at box speed of 100 in a Nikon N80 with an AFS Nikkor 24-85 lens set on aperture mode at f/5.6.
Also, I had the film processed in town at the local lab just so I would have a benchmark of what this film will do.
It's a bit on the fadey-outy side and needs a boost, so next time I'll shoot it at ISO 50 or maybe ISO 25 to give it some help.
Edit....although the more I look at it, I think I'll just continue to shoot it at box speed. It reminds me of Portra a little bit.

Here's a couple from my walk down that mysterious path behind a shopping mall. I thought it reached just the other street but it appears that it's much longer than that.
Second roll of FomaPan 100 ever. Processed in Rodinal 1:50.
I've also got a few firefighting photos on the Pyromaniac thread... I really should have processed that roll in PMK in order to make it the most meta roll of film ever!

I had the pleasure of meeting Becky in Gallup last weekend and was given a generous lot of that Agfa Vista, looking forward to shooting it.  Funny thing happened when Becky rolled into town, the entire city lost internet and phones for a full day.  It may just be a coincidence but be careful next time you get too many Filmwasters in one place.  Seriously though, it’s always great to meet another Filmwaster. 

I’ve been shooting my first box of J. Lane speed plates with my 9x12 Zeiss Ikon Trona.  I figured out a way to develop them in my hotel bathtub under the red light of a cell phone app.  The speed plates are supposed to be ISO 25 but I seem to be getting better results at 12.  After wasting a few plates I think I’m getting the hang of it. 

This is my favorite so far, Spider Rock at Canyon De Chelly, Arizona.  The rock stands over 800 feet above the valley floor and has an interesting Navajo legend, long before there was Spider Man there was Spider Woman.  http://www.indigenouspeople.net/spiderro.htm

A couple of windmills that I managed to get to add to my project. I tried to get the second on J lane dry plate with only particial success

Love the muted Agfa Vista colours!

I have some images from the Lüneburg Heath. We were there a couple weeks ago for vacation. The bloom hadn't started yet, but I also like the landscape in black and white. Agfa Super Isolette, Ilford FP4+. The first shot is of a rental bee stand. You can rent it and put your bees in there when the heather is in bloom.

I'll continue Becky's theme of Irv's generously donated Agfa Vista!! I LOVE this stuff, I can't decide whether it's my favorite color film or if Ferrania Solaris is ... I read that during some iteration of Agfa Vista, Agfa's color film production was actually taken over by Ferrania, but this batch says made in Germany so it's not this. Either way, great film, thanks Irv! 👍🏽

Good to see some more color from Irv's generous give away.
I like it more and more now that I see what it can do., so think I'll continue to shoot it at box speed.

Bryan-that is a really nice photo of Spider Rock. It's so massive, I don't think it ever comes across in photos of how big that thing really is. You did it well.

Also, I have another addition to the weekend thread ...a late one.
I drove down to Magdalena on Saturday to meet some astronomer friends for breakfast and on the way back shot this kind of goofy photo of a somewhat iconic Billboard seen in the Southwest. I was in the passenger seat and we were going 75mph, so it gives justice to how nice this little lens is. I have been to see "the Thing" and it's about as hokey as you can get.
