Suggest we look at updating Becky's otherwise excellent existing forum's front page image?
I will chat Ed to see if I can check the process, but can we set up a poll or similar and take some seriously good submissions from the last year or so of work here?

Just an idea, as not sure I can update, but we can try!

Would be a good idea. Having the same image up front doesn't give visitors the sense that anything changes much on the site.

As I use a link straight into the main forum I don't get to see Becky's nice shot so often, which is a pity. But I agree with you Francois, having the same front page year after year gives an impression of inertia. Perhaps it would be a good idea to replace the front page image at fixed intervals?

We used to do that but with everybody growing increasingly busy over the years, I guess it wasn't one of the admin's first priorities.

Could we also have the 200k per image increased? I’ve got a 750x500 image compressed at it is still 238k. Certainly we can bump this to 500k so we can get a half decent size

As a part-timer, not sure how to do this.

It was pretty cool, and we spent some time designing it...
Not sure where that lives, but that I might be able to resolve as I think I've got the file somewhere.

Sounds good. Looking forward to the next image, though Becky's shot has become sort of a signature shot for the page and I'll surely miss it.

Yes, thin the weeds, spiffy up the place a bit. :-)
A moderator picking an image would be cool and a surprise would be fine too.

Activity has kind of slacked off in recent times, but I still come here and use the search button for old threads about cameras, and also like to look at the weekend stuff and the recently acquired gear people have. You guys are my remote family of sorts.
I don't always post, but sometimes just sit quietly in the corner.

A few I looked at had your name on already too!
Me too though, I regularly use the details here for my own research on camera options and results.

I will however try to make a selection, and somehow update regardless...

Same goes for me... I drop in most days to keep abreast of what's happening, but tend to only log in if I think I might have something to say.
Most folk on here, I'm never likely to actually meet, but from their contributions to the forum, I've come to like and respect, so it'd be a real shame if the site stagnated, so I'll hereby commit to making a concerted effort to become a more active contributor...

I think many of us could be more active here, I see some days pass without a single post. Still I like this forum better than for example RFF, where any topic can end up in a dogfight. Luckily we've got Francois here to keep up the spirit and the number of posts.

I also tend to only participate if I have something to contribute (hopefully), guess I'm not the most talkative around here. Must try to do something about that.

Can't say I don't give you a chance

If you add a few hundred posts of gibberish, you get disqualified.... no spamming.

Well, I still haven't figured it out. I guess it will depend on the level of participation this will generate.
One thing is for sure, it will be a physical thing that will travel through the mail.
