Uzbekistan, Holgas and Charles Binns has happened previously and, I suspect, may happen on more occasions in the future. You can also add "bicycle" to the list of unexpected words as I suspect Charles will be biking his way round the place.
The Photography Show was, as expected, a digi-fest. However, I managed to avoid all of the main camera / lens manufacturing brand stalls and concentrated on a lot of the peripheral stuff - which was really interesting. One thing that really caught my attention is "emulsion" produced by Ilford that can be painted onto any sort of paper that will go through an inkjet printer. As I don't have a traditional darkroom these days but still like to see prints, I might give that a whirl.
I managed to pick up a new camera backpack to replace my battered old Lowepro Mini-Trekker AW (which I've hated since the first time I took it for a walk lasting more than a couple of hours). The new one will be accompanying me on an imminent(ish) brief trip to photograph Northumberland and the NE coast. I'll be using film (and not film) so I'll try to post a few film shots later in April.
