Great one Satish, that's the New York I remember, really gritty.  That's about the same time I used to go there to visit my grandparents in Queens.  The old man watching the fashion shoot reminds me of my grandfather, I loved walking around queens with him listening to his stories and meeting all the people he knew in the neighborhood.

This cabbie seemed to pick up a lot of fares outside of S&M clubs.  Maybe he was just going there for the photo ops.

The only time I've ever been to NYC was on a 2 hour stop at LaGuardia... not the best for sight seeing.
But I did grow up breakdancing and watching the whole NYC rap graffiti scene on TV. We got to see bits of Style Wars. Run DMC and L.L. Cool J were the hottest music around, along with GrandMaster Flash and a bunch of others...
This is basically my memories of NYC. Now I look at it all clean and nice and it somehow doesn't seem to be the same place.

Film is the vinyl record of photography.

NYC looks way too sterile now. Philadelphia still has character in that sense.
