Topic: Fuji Natura 1600

A few rolls of fresh natura 1600 came my way the other day and now I`m wondering what to use it for.
From what I read lot of people say it´s wonderful but when I see the example shots they are, well, not really what I would call nice.
So, dear filmwasters, how do you use and expose your natura 1600 to get nice/accurate semi-soft colours and that grainy but sharp look? Hoping not to waste a roll of the precious Natura 1600 on experimenting. Thank you!

Once upon a time I was seduced by this film (speed blind?), but I (mis)treated it like any other colour negative film. I exposed it at box speed and handed it in to the lab. So I really cannot give much advise on how to get the best out of it. It is quite nice with little grain, but otherwise it looks quite similar to other Fuji films.
But when I compare it to my favourite film today; the Portra 400, I really see no reason for this seduction.........

Hmmm, well, thanks Kai-san

I`ll try to shoot it @ 640 dev. as 1600 and see what happens to the tonality - could of-course also do a full test to see how it likes to be treated. Same subjekt from 100-6400 with similar lighting conditions that I intend to use it for - late sunny afternoon.

Natura works great between 800 and 1250.  I also found it nice rated at 2500 or so with a one stop push.  That said...I like grain.

Thank´s Faintandfuzzy, I`m half way trough my first roll and did a test - exposed from 100-3200 in 1 step / daylight and I`m curios to see what rating gives the "best" colours. With my pace you will probably see the results here sometime before Christmas
