Now, for all the space geeks out here and all the camera nerds, here is a very interesting short doc on how NASA filmed those beautiful shots of the Saturn V and the Shuttle.

I wasn't old enough to remember the Saturn V launch footage, but it is fantastic to watch as everything happens in sequence. The interstage-separation is also an iconic piece of film. Obviously filmed while the shuttle was still flying, but please to see the Canberra was still being used as a high altitude camera platform.

I wasn't even born during the Apollo era, but I remember when they launched the first shuttle (Enterprise).
The teachers told us all to go home early for dinner and to be sure to watch the TV on a specific channel where they knew that the launch would be broadcast. My teacher told us that it was an important thing to watch...
