weekend Oct. 20 - 22
« on: October 20, 2017, 02:09:27 PM »
Friday afternoon, lets enjoy the weekend.

This is from one of the biggest (333 m long) graduation works in Germany. It's not used for salt production anymore since long but it shall be healthy to inhale the salty air.

Minolta Dynax 8000i and 28-105, Kentmere 400, homemade PC-dev.

Went up to Maine last weekend. Don't have the photos developed yet, so here's a couple from a trip up there earlier this year:

and a man who thinks his equipment is going to see for him is not going to get much of anything.

Two end-of-the-roll views of my photo workroom.  The baseball stickers date from 1967—twenty years before we moved into the house—and include one or two of my boyhood heroes.

Leica R4s, 35mm or 100mm Elmar, Ilford FP4+, Caffenol C-L, semi-stand

A couple from the Solarsphere Rock and Astronomy festival in Builth Wells that I went to in August.  I didn't shoot much at all and this was the quiet of Sunday morning.  Years since the last time I went to a music festival - I'm not even going to tell you which decade it was in, but David Bowie was still a solo folksinger if that's any hint.  Only just finished and dev'd the roll last weekend - Acros at EI200 in DDX.

I've been shooting some expired Polaroid type 100 film this week, Fuji FP100c, Fuji F100b and Polaroid Sepia. The Fuji films expired in 1999 and 2000, but every sheet in the film packs came out fine without artifacts. The FP100c had a slight colour shift. The Polaroid Sepia expired in 2008 and had lots of issues, I had to throw away one third. The Fuji films were clearly of a much better quality. I have one and a half pack left of the Sepia, time to finish it. And the FP100b was my last pack.  :'(

A few from a recent trip to Fairbanks, Alaska for work.  Leica IIIc with an Elmar 5cm lens.  The film is Ilford Pan-F 50+ developed in beer.

Wonderful photos from everyone again! Especially love the shallow depth of field in the 2nd Polaroid Land Camera shot.

I tried to take pinhole photos at the back end of a storm here in Europe. Still quite windy (gusts up to 80 km/h) and a lot of rain. I ended up having water everywhere, in the filmholders, on the pinhole, on the filter, in the camera. This is what the result looks like.

Great photos everyone. Kevin, the IR shot is very appealing. Well done.

I took the following photos in Kloster Stötterlingen in Lüttgenrode. The abbey itself doesn't exist anymore, only a ruin of the church still exists. The church is more than 1.000 years old. It was almost torn down, however, the villagers of Lüttgenrode founded an initiative which eventually managed to restore the bell tower of the church. ManuelL and I had the pleasure (by chance, really) of a private tour of the tower.

Canon F-1, Canon 50mm f/1.4, Fuji Sensia 100 (expired, I'd guess)

I was rather surprised how accurate the colours were. This is my first roll of Sensia that I've shot so far so I have no idea what Sensia normally looks like. I've still got ~2 rolls left.

Having never quite got around to going to High Rocks to shoot infra-red during the summer, I figured there might be a chance of some autumnal colour. The Spa Valley Railway were also holding a beer festival so I went on the 20th.
Disappointed on the autumnal colour front (not developed that yet), but not on the beer front.
I also shot a roll of Ilford HP5+ which I pushed to 1600 as I'd not tried doing that before. I like what i see.

Mine are in colour this week. From a couple of weeks ago. Shot with the Kowa Six and one extension tube I had never used before. Depth of field is extremely reduced with it and focusing is not an easy task. The results were quite pleasant to me.

A couple of shots:

For years I only shot tri-x at 400, assuming I wouldn't like the extra grain that comes with shooting it faster. On a recent trip to Berlin I wanted to shoot at night giving me no option but to push to 1600 and I really like the results.

Which has taught me a couple of things, first it's very easy to get stuck in a rut, doing the same thing every time and two, it really isn't that grainy. Tri-x is pretty amazing!

Great shots!

This one was taken with the Fujica Compact 35, metered at IE 200 (using Ilford HP5) and shot at F/11. Developed in Ilfotec DDX

It's been a while, catching up with some scanning.
These ones on a Nikon F65, Fomapan 100, can't remember dev data. Autofocus doesn't seem to work, so manual, not quite sharp. View onto the town's mosque and dog walker passing the house.
