I have never seen this issue before, but I have some questions that are related to common problems:
1. Is the Pakon plugged in while installing the software? If so, unplug the USB cable while installing the software. Once the software install completes, plug the scanner in, then choose the driver if prompted.
2. Which USB port are you plugging the Pakon into? Don't use front USB ports if it's a tower, use the rear ports that are on the motherboard. If it's a laptop, try a different port.
3. Are you sure the ports are USB 2.0?
4. Is this a dedicated computer running game XP, or is it a virtual machine on a Mac or Windows 7, 8, or 10?
