In my continuing efforts to find alternatives to wet plate collodion (Fuji peel-apart negs scanned as positives, my brief dalliance with paper negs), I'm thinking of trying Ilford Orthographic for portraits.
In a few examples I've seen on flickr, they seem less dramatic than wet plate collodion in darkening the reds of the skin, but still give the impression of something different...
I also like that it's extremely slow, allowing some flexibility in lighting, letting me hit what I consider the sweet spot in portraits, a 2-second exposure.
Anyone have experience with it for portraits?
