« on: December 09, 2016, 09:33:06 AM »
I got a busy weekend ahead so I thought I'd get in early.
Went into a studio with a ballet dancer -some coloured powder -some lights and a couple of other photographers (digi ones tho) and produced these.
Porta 800 (exp) Etrsi and lab developed

Thanks, Antonio. Yes, Shanghai GP3 and Promicrol are well suited for each other.
Note that I exposed the film at 200 ASA.

Good start, folks. I haven't produced much in the last few weeks, and what I have I've already shown in the photo essays I've posted. I have, however, been rescanning some old color work with the PrimeFilm XA, which is a huge improvement over the old Canon 8800F flatbed (for color at least; I've stuck with the Canon for B&W, as I've found I'm able to get very similar results with little work, and the PrimeFilm is rather fussy to use). In any case, this is from a couple years ago. Canon P, Canon 50/1.5, Portra 160.

and a man who thinks his equipment is going to see for him is not going to get much of anything.

My beloved Rollei 35 looks like it's slowly fading away. It doesn't want to be fed with new film any longer. It keeps throwing out the film feeder when I'm winding it in. So sad.

Here is one I took with it a few years ago.

Every day off, I visit Shining Cliff Wood with Max, my dog. I was lucky enough to be there on a day where the light was perfect.

I took this on my new (old) Spotmatic. According to the previous owner it was last used in 1990, and this is my first film photography since about 1999. It's a good camera, but it's going to have to have a service, as we are both rusty. 55m lens at f2, Agfa Vista 200.

Shining Cliff Wood is an interesting place with lots of history and it's one of the great privileges of my life to see it change with the seasons. I will be taking a film camera from now on with a view to sharing a photo essay about it as my skills develop ,so watch this space.

This isn't quite the shot I wanted, but it's the shot I got. This is a boxing gym on Bleecker St, you can see the ring at the back. They often (always?) show boxing on the black & white TVs in the window. What I really wanted was a shot of two people sparring in the back while a pro boxing match was being shown on the TVs, but instead I got a bunch of boxing students wrapping up for the night and a singer on the TV screens  :-\

Not familiar with TV Party, but I wouldn't be surprised if everything they showed on those TVs (including boxing matches) were reruns :)

TV party was a show on Public access TV in Brooklyn back in the late 1970's to early 80's.
Here's the show that featured Debbie Harry and Blondie.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msHpmWRLybo

Not showing directly so as to not disturb the thread too much.

But if you like the weirdness of that period when there was still an avant-garde, do watch.
And yes, pretty much everybody on the screen was stoned out of their minds... ::)

I am missing this weekend again. I am travelling a lot for job and though I have time in between to take some photos, this time is not enough to develop/scan them :(

They are all great shots, but my favourite ones are the irv_b set, the Sandeha wheel and chris667's dog :)

Thanks for sharing your personal works.

Again a fine weekend show, Irvs opener is fantastic.

Yesterday I shot 2 rolls of RPX 400 with these 2 beauties. Just developed and scanned the first shots. Maybe a photo essay will follow.

I was lucky enough to spend the day walking in Manhattan on Saturday.  It was the right weekend, with an Eggleston show on the west side and a Christenberry show on the east side, right around the corner from Trump Tower.  A great day, except for having my backpack searched for daring to walk the sidewalk in front of Trump Plaza.  What a chaotic mess.
