New scanner - Epson R2400 - icc question
« on: October 12, 2007, 12:46:16 PM »
I have a new toy. Hoorah! A beautiful Epson r2400 printer which I hope to make good use of.
I bought myself a pack of Ilford Galerie and downloaded the icc profile from their website, but I'm confused now as to where to use it. Do I apply it to the image in photoshop or should I be putting it somewhere in a folder that the printer accesses? I'm on a Mac...

Sorry it's a bit of an idiot question.

I'm on windoze so things might be slightly different.

The profile goes in the same folder as other profiles.
When you use print with preview in photoshop, you tell it to let photoshop manage colors (bottom of the panel), you select the printer's ICC profile in that box. You configure the printer and tell it to disable color management on the printer side.

That usually works...

I've got a q too  ..... I took a look at the printer on the internet ... where do you put the developer, stop and Fixer?  and, for that matter, where does the negative go, and, how do you get the paper in without exposing it to the light?  Think I'll stick with my devere.

Hi Janet,

You can put the profile in the ColorSync folder.

It's on your hard-drive ? Library ? ColorSync ? Profiles

Drop the profile in there, start up PS again and go through the normail PS printer routine and you should have it available to you.

Hope this helps.

Leon, you need this printer from Durst
There is a place for the developer and the fixer. It also comes ready to print large pictures :)
You just can't get more buck for the bang :)
