Instax Monochrome
« on: September 06, 2016, 06:07:18 PM »
I know it's no substitute for the old pack film, but it's better than nothing I guess.

FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Kenji Sukeno) is pleased to announce the launch of the “instax mini film Monochrome”, which will be released worldwide in October 2016. The “instax mini film Monochrome” responds to the increasingly sophisticated demands of users, enabling them to expand the artistic potential of their photographic expression and adding a further dimension of fun to using instax cameras and films.

Keep thinking i might get me one of those instax cameras some time. Be nice if they do a Wide version.

I bought a Polaroid 100 and grafted a Mamiya TLR 105/3.5 on it to run my last four boxes of FP-3000B through, and will get an Instax wide body and butcher it onto the Polaroid 100 after that.

I really hope they make a monochrome Instax wide. That would be great.

Why no Instax wide? I cannot believe it is cost, the two Instax formats are not that far apart in price. Interesting none the less. I've backed that KS campaign for a modular camera and, eventually, I have thought of adding a Instax back. That would give you full exposure control of an instant picture camera.

I just hope it doesn't mean they're going to discontinue the Wide format. The Mini is way more popular I'm afraid, but probably it just means they want to see the real sales before releasing a Wide version.

I'd definitely use b/w Instax if they made a Wide format version. I'm also very much leaning towards buying an Lomo Instant Wide at some point in the future...probably the next time I sell some gear and free up some cash. I can see that camera and b/w Instax film being a great marriage.

Agreed. I'm bitter about Fujifilm's decision re their whole range of peel apart film, but it's not going to keep me away from their Instax products. We film users cannot afford to stay bitter and/or boycott manufacturers (unless it's over issues such as pricing and quality).

I'd like to see an Instax wide 4-by-5 adapter for large format camera. Then you'd have better control of exposure and use whatever lens you desired.

I've shot some Instax in 2x3 sheet film holders. I'm still muddling through a good roller solution, but plan to try B&W as soon as it hits.

I would pay good money for a 2x3 Graflok Instax back, though. I'm surprised an enterprising young RB67 owner hasn't already tackled it. Who has a 3D printer and needs some cash? ;)
