Hello!

I was wondering if there is anyone else following this concept.

The general thought of "24 exp" is to dedicate a 35mil camera for one exposure each day during december and then you can process it as a christmas present to yourself

Actually it was called "24 exp" due to that we celebrate christmas o the 24'th of december in sweden and there are a few rolls with 24 exposures on it so that would fit - but hay, you do as you please and not many rolls are only 24 exposures anyway

Also this was thought out to make people actually bring the camera during these dark days of the year (sweden...) and it worked pretty well on me!

This december will be shot with my Nikon FA on a roll of RPX400 (@1600)!

Well, although I don't "celebrate" Christmas on 24th or 25th, I'm up for anything that encourages me to take photos - especially in the dark days of December. So please count me in. I'll be using my Leica M6 loaded with ~~Tri-X rated at 1600~~ Fuji Superia 800 rated at 1600.

I probably won't participate but the nice image of your camera prompted me to replace the light seals on my Minolta SR-1s and put in my last roll of Rollei RPX 400. Now what to shoot with it ... Some portraits of strangers on the streets maybe? Sounds good but I'm probably going to shoot landscapes because I'm too shy.

Count me in! I love the idea of the 24 exposures. I'll be doing it with my Olympus om2n and whatever I have in 24 exposures. I believe I have some black and white Kentmere in 24.

The only thing I've got in 24exp right now is color - I think a couple rolls of Fuji 800 and Kodak Gold 200 (new), plus a bunch of Fuji 200 that I bought when Walmart was selling it out for less than $2/roll. Problem is there isn't much color around here these days, just grey. I suppose I could develop a roll of color as B&W to see how it comes out. I'll figure it out tomorrow....

I had my doubts too, but I went for the FA with rpx@1600, I have several nikon bodies so I can bring an extra body if I find more shots that same day

I solved my shooting-color-when-there-is-no-color-to-shoot conundrum. I found a short roll of FP4+ (12 exposures) from the end of my last bulk rolling session. I put it in my PEN D3 half-frame. I think I'll try pushing it to 400, just to see what happens. Problem solved. I'm in.

Found a box of 4 rolls of 24exp Superia X-TRA 400. I think it's expired, but can't find the date. Loading it into the Fed-3 now.

The only 24 exposure film I've got is a roll of Agfaphoto Vista Plus from Poundland. So I've bunged that in the Minox GT-S, to see if I can do a shot a day.

I can't remember the last time I saw a roll of 24 exposure film for sale and I doubt I've shot one this century!! I'm going to shoot 31 on my 36 and get it process as early in the New Year as I can - a December "one a day" project, if you will. Not too worried about "wasting" 5 frames!

I'm having the same problem. My local pusher only has Kodak Gold 200 in 24 exposure (3-pack). I'm thinking of going 36 exposures and running all the way through the Epiphany.

I've seen 24 exposure Fuji film 200 and Xtra 400 in drug stores, Walmarts, etc, all over the Western U.S.

I must have left the top of my camera bag unfastened by accident. I never, ever do that. The bag was in its usual place on the back seat of my car as I drove the 150 miles back home from working in Gloucester. Anyway, the bag must have moved during the journey so that, when I opened the rear passenger door of the car to retrieve it, the bag fell out, tipped forward and the camera I am using to shoot the 24 Exp / Dec 2015 (a Leica M6 Titanium) shot out of the bag and landed square on my brick paviour driveway. I had no time to even try to catch it and I daren't print the words that were echoing around my head.

The "good" news is that the camera landed squarely on the baseplate. The rest of the camera and the 28mm Elmarit-M that was attached doesn't appear to have made any contact with the ground whatsoever. The "bad" news is that the baseplate was seriously scuffed (at one end / corner more than the other). The viewfinder and the rest of the camera seem to be working fine.

This happened last week. Between then and now, I've found a replacement baseplate in almost the mint condition as the one that was damaged. A few days have passed and I am now seriously thinking about either (a) withdrawing from the "24" or (b) winding the film out and loading it into another camera. I'm not at all precious about kit as I usually buy well-used second-hand stuff. However, I must admit that this has shaken my confidence quite a bit.

I'm not after sympathy but don't be surprised if the photos look a bit "different" after about the first week's worth....

I can imagine what you said. If you haven't already pulled the film this may be a good opportunity to test the camera as you finish the roll to make sure it's working properly. Shoot a range of shutter speeds and make sure the rangefinder didn't get knocked out of whack.

If that had happened to me, especially with an M6, the words would have been echoing for about a half-a-mile radius, not just in my head (but then I'm in New York, so no one would have paid the slightest bit of attention).

You can check the RF without shooting photos. Just pick an object at a fixed, known distance and focus, then check the scale on the lens. And look at it this way: now you have a spare baseplate to mount when you carry that camera someplace where it might be vulnerable to damage.

Sorry chaps and chap-esses, I missed yesterday's shot (out all day and completely forgot), so I'm out of the running. I'm also going to ask a pro to have a look at the M6 to ensure there's no hidden damage to the gubbins inside the camera. Hope not but, if there is, better to know now as I'd need to get it fixed.

I think I have two shots of the back of my lens cap, that count's right? I'm not positive but I think I may have fired off a shot today while the camera was in my pocket. I may come up a shot short, maybe I'll have to do a double exposure or two at the end to make up for it. I'm still in it until the end but if I keep this up I can do a photo essay of the back of lens caps.

If your frame counter says today's date, you're still in it, and yes lens caps and pocket interiors count as well as shots of your shoes, the sky, accidental blurry selfies, doubles, overs, unders, red window back exposures, accidental opened film doors, and reflected flashes.

I guess that means it is around January 14th for you, counting down to the 1st, followed by December 31st. That must be confusing when trying to schedule things. You should get a right-ways counter!

What can I say, I actually rarely had a year which everything went perfect either..

Last year I had gotten my hands on a Edixa-mat which turned out that it didnt really work that well, I think I had 20-25 "working" frames out that roll of 36...

Two years earlier I had driven around in the company car and I had forgotten the camera in the back when leaving it at the office, so that was one frame..

The second year I established to this I decided to shoot color film and was really looking forward to the roll when I got it back from the lab - completely empty. It turned out that I had loaded the roll wrong and I had not exposed one frame.

Just sayin... This year's looks good so far though

Short days and lack of light are among the reasons I chose a camera with an f/1.7 lens. Still, I expect some very thin negatives along the way.

I suspect it's similar, to varying degrees, for most of Europe above 50 degrees North (ish). Daylight is at a premium and yet it barely gets light due to the bad weather systems and low angle of the sun - when it can be bothered to peep over the horizon.

This time of year really gets me down. My energy levels take an eternity to build and they then run down faster than a dud battery. I become forgetful and I just want to sleep all the time. I also get clumsy and uber-tetchy when stuff doesn't work properly. Conventional wisdom says that humans evolved from ape-like animals. I think I have more bear-like genetics......

I find lunch-hour a very fitting time-gap to take the daily picture..

I also bring along my Nikon F5 with a HP5+ pushed to 3200 and a Sigma 35/1.4 lens, so always looking for a frame when I have some time over

The F5 is right now a true killer when the dark has fallen as I can with ease take pictures without a tripod

Lunchtime, for me, is usually a five minute walk to a sandwich shop and then eaten whilst I work. I do carry a camera with me, daily. Currently, it's a Canon F1-N with a 50mm / f1.4 and Tri-X rated at 320. I'm hoping to do a bit of evening shooting in the festive break but I haven't thought much more about where or when in any detail just yet. When I do, I'll try to shoot the roll of CineStill 800 I have in the fridge.

I took mine too, but I suspect there may be a frame or two left (it's half-frame, so I loaded a nominally 12-frame roll, but with a short film transport path I often get more than expected). No time to develop it today, and probably not tomorrow, so do I just keep shooting until I run out or yank it and wait? What's the ruling from the judges?

Until today I have kept my rule to shoot one each day, but now we can just end the roll whenever we'd like of course. The rules are not that hard

So, now that this was done - do you, dear participants think there is a need for a image thread right away? And is there any thinking of how it could be performed? I have not really created a image thread for 24exp before, but perhaps it is a good idea?
