Remember last year's 'share the love'?
« on: August 28, 2015, 09:19:55 PM »
So Hungry Mike in Tronna sent me some 127 rolls last November, including several Kodak Gold 200 expired in 1990.  Now that I'm doing my own C-41 I decided to shoot one of them.  Arbitrarily decided to shoot it at half box speed and develop normally, and that's what I did.  Fully expected nothing at all on the neg, but here are some samples of what I got.  Kodak is magic!

(Not that anyone asked, but this is roll 32)

And the colors of old Gold have something special to them... I've got one in my camera I need to finish.

I'm amazed at the way it rendered the colors.  Some frames seem to have a slight magenta shift, but not across the whole frame (like the top one above).  It was magic hour (about 6:00 in the evening) so maybe that was the light and not the film.  The reds and greens are dead on target.
