Dust is not a major problem for me, but when I scan my films I like to dust them off with compressed air just in case. But I am pretty tired of buying air in cans, they are expensive, filled with some propellant gas however eco-friendly, they do not last long and of cause add to the ever growing refuse problem.
So I had the idea that maybe those small mains driven air compressors used for air brush work could be utilized for the purpose. The pressure in a can is about 6 bars while these compressors deliver anything from 1 to 4 bars, I do not know if that is sufficient? A compressor for this purpose should of cause have an oil free drive system and preferrably a water separator to ensure that the air is dry.
Do you have any experience of or thoughts about this? It would be interesting to know what you do with your dust issues.
