But I just came across this quote from the filmmaker Aki Kaurismäki

"Real film is light, digital is electricity."

It's quite true, isn't it? And so typical of him, straight to the point and no beating around the bush. I'm a big fan of Kaurismäki, but his films are obviously not to everyones taste. There is a very good TV portrait of him, it's made like one of his films! Highly recommended.

Back to the original topic: Wong Kar-Wai (another of my favorite filmmakers) recently said that his favorite sound in the world is that of film running through a camera.
