Topic: Bergger Films and paper

I've just seen on faceplace that Bergger are making films again ... And in sheet sizes. Is this a new thing? I have been out of the loop for a while. Paper too apparently. Anyone used it to print on? Any thoughts?

They been around a awhile have not kept up with their new products mostly because of distribution. Have not used their film products since the demise forte. So they have multiple film emulsions now?

I've been planning to try their B&W 35mm film, but never got round to it. Linhof Studio in the UK stocks both film and papers.

they've been semi active recently, yes
nothing happening fast but there seems to be people genuinely caring for the brand and keeping it going. so that's great!

Bergger film is relabeled Orwo cine film made by Filmotec, the small surviving part of ORWO. There are different opinions if they are able to manufacture films themselves or if they are made by someone else, e.g. Innoviscoat, who work with original Agfa machines and stuff.

Bergger paper could be Foma or Kentmere.

Reinhold, is the sheet film Orwo?  Because that could be great.  My students just shot some 16mm projects on UN54 and it looked wonderful.  It would be really nice that have that emulsion in 4x5 or 5x7....

I think the 135/120 is orwo. but I thought I read that they had the sheets specially ordered from someplace else and to their own calculated emulsion? could be done by ilford/kentmere, foma or... does adox do sheets?

BRF-400 is a panchromatic black and white film for general outdoor and studio photography. BRF 400 is available in 120 and 135/36 sizes.

BPFO-10 is an orthochromatic film whose contrast can be varied from « medium »to « extremely high » depending upon the degree of development. It has a 100µ polyester base and an anti-halation backing and can be exposed either by contact or by enlarger. (BRFO-10 is avaliable in sheets)

Yes, Bergger actually list on their website is 10x12 and 12x16 ortho sheet film, no other film.

We had some discussions about Orwo/Filmotec films on german boards a couple of years before, they seem to only sell bulk rolls of 16 and 35 mm. A small company engaged  in the cine film market.

Is the the 'Pancro 400 film' the same thing as the BRF400?

Hi Leon,
I have used their paper, it is nothing special although their old discontinued art paper was lovely stuff.
As for film what's wrong with HP5+ @ 200 that we use now, it's so easy when using 5x4.
