Hello,
a few weeks ago I spent the afternoon at a local forest reserve. Most forest around where I live is used comercially and old trees are quite rare. The Rohrberg reserve is a tiny place in the Spessart forest, but has some interesting old beech and oak trees. The oaks are up to 800 years old. There is a walking trail around the reserve which you can probably cover in an hour or so, if you are not carrying a heavy camera and tripod.
This was also the region where the Spessart bandits used to live in the 18th century, robbing travellers and post coaches. There are a lot tales around the bandits and even some musical films from the 1950s and 60s.
