Or maybe not. A Frenchman living in Beijing scours trash for discarded negatives and makes a photo project out of it.

I saw this a while ago.
there's also that man in California that goes to estate sales to buy all the unwanted photos. Takes them to his garage, sorts them all one by one into categories and then sells them at the flea market on the weekend.
