I believe that the meter we see in close-up is the one from the film maker. The large format photographer appears to have a Gossen Luna-Pro around his neck.

Oh... and there was an old large format camera in the video too?  :P

I just looked at it again and it looks like he's using a Wista Field  :D
Lets just say it ain't for those who hate carrying heavy gear!

I must admit that I kinda like the carrying case though. It would be nice to have one like that but smaller for my Graflex.

I do still have a gossen courtesy of Francois in the gear swap we were all doing a couple years ago. I ended up getting something a little more reliable and now the gossen sits. It'll likely be passed along to another film waster eventually. It still works well then set properly.

The nice thing is that I sent it with alkalines and not toxic mercury cells. The alkalines when drained are the base for the silver cell adapters. All they need is a bit of soldering skills and a diode.

true enough! Since I have the sekonic now, next "share the love" I'll be including that for someone looking for an entry level meter.

I guess this has turned into a meter thread!

My favroite meter is the Sekonic L-428. It is made of Bakelite and with metal dials and buttons. It's shaped similar to the Weston/gossen meters but feels much more soild. There are lots of accessories, but they are had to find. With a 10 degrees finder, enlarging flat diffuser, microscope attachment, ground glass probe and movie dial. It crazy sensitivity and depending on mode can also read down to EV -5~-7! Gossen ultrapro/mastersix is at -4.

1/2 second at f/22 in the shade... that means he's probably using some 50 ISO film!
Just imagine the grain... or lack of it

APX 25 was pretty amazing.

Me, I'm currently loaded with 400 bulk loads! I got my hand on a roll of short date Tri-X and I still got plenty of Arista 400, so I guess fine grain won't be in my near future!

It's funny 'cause I would be tempted to use faster speed film on an 8x10 since the lenses are so slow and the surface so big that grain really isn't a problem...
