Hi Gang

I know there are some fellow HC-110 users out there. I have been trying a few of the usual places (eg B&H) to get the north american version of this product in the smaller bottle and it is not available. I know that B&H uses the term 'discontinued' as being somewhat interchangeable with 'out of stock.' If merely reducing the sizes of bottle is the issue, that will not trigger my 'hoarder button'. Are we A-OK with availability with this product?

I order mine from Freestyle, looks like they still list it as in stock and available in 1L bottles.

I haven't heard any rumors about Kodak discontinuing the product, but then again the only place I'd know to hear such rumors from is here

It's been a while since there was a European version. The US version is what is left for all markets. The non standard dilution ratios you find out there are for the most part valid for the US version. I tend to use dilution H or B.

Last time I bought some, they still had them by the box full.
Have you tried FilmPlus in Toronto?
They have a whole lot of stuff there and they ship if you need to.

Thanks guys. I am gonna chill out and use some of the other developers I have kicking around here (some Xtol that TinTin said I should try, and some Ilford ID11 that I got somewhere) and then get the 110 when i need it.

I notice B&H will not ship HC-110 but Freestyle has no such restriction noted. I bought my last stock from Freestyle when they were in 16oz bottles. Now it looks like only 1L size are available. Just opened one of my bottles and decanted it into four 4oz. brown glass bottles since I dont use it that fast. About the only dilution I use is 1:63 as a one shot, 9 to 11 min. @ 70F for most films I use.

For paper I use the Ilford liquid concentrate to make up developer and fix.

you STILL have that Xtol? It should be long gone by now. Its almost 2 years old!

Haha, no it is not that stuff -- it is some I bought that is still in crystal form.

I stopped in to B+H this morning and bought a bottle of HC-110.  Their website is saying they only have it available for in-store sale and that seems to be true.  But it's in a one-liter bottle and says it's made in Germany.  The liquid seems thinner than the stuff I'm used to and the color is a bit lighter, so I'm assuming it's the European concentrate.  Do this seem right to those of you who have used them both?

Thanks Eirik.  Despite the lighter color this appears to be the American syrup: I peeled back several layers of the bottle label and found a dilution guide that shows dil. B as 1+31.  So it has to the old US syrup concentration despite not looking like it!

Weird. I was noticing that the bh bottle (that I can't get through the mail) looks unlike any hc-110 that I have bought. No cool bottle and the pic did look lighter than the normal stuff.

Not yet; still got half a bottle of the old syrup to get through.  I don't mind that it looks different if it works the same way!

I know HC-110 turns slightly darker when it's in an open bottle. I have two and they're distinctly different color.

True enough--it seems to get darker and turn from a greenish-yellow to an amber color.

This is interesting.  Back around 6 months ago when Kodak changed the catalog number, and some sites then changed the status to "discontinued", rumors swirled that it was over for HC-110.  I bought 8 bottles from B&H and they shipped it no problem like they always had before.  Since it seems the change was just in packaging but are people saying B&H will no longer ship it?

From what is looks like bh are not shipping it. Other places are such as freestyle, but there shipping costs more (at least to canada).
