LF wet plate on Kickstarter
« on: April 08, 2014, 02:26:50 PM »
I've just seen this and i think it's a really cool idea https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/104408713/the-really-big-camera-project?ref=discovery
Sadly, few others seem to share my enthusiasm for this  :-[

Right! Robert Kenney is a local photographer that does some really nice wet plate work here in Vancouver. I looked at this Kickstarter the day it was launched. Unfortunately he is banking the whole campaign on art prints as rewards. Much like selling art in this world it is a tough sell. I would love to have a piece of his work on my wall, but I can't really afford it. Find that many people to back a project based on the love of his artwork is an even tougher sell.

Hi Chris
I agree - it's a very tough sell & I am disappointed that the campaign has yet to take off to any meaningful extent. But a print is tempting...
But I wish him luck - it's a great idea

yup I agree with everything above ^

when I first visited the page I saw "the really big camera project"
and I thought ~he's going to make really big cameras to sell~
and then I saw "the camera" image below . . . .

disapointment followed.

I think its going to be tough to get this project rolling.
