Not bad. How did you get rid of the rem-jet backing?

I just rubbed it off with my finger and thumb under a running tap

I quite like those results gsgary. Kodachrome as B&W is likely not an everyday thing but if you got a project in mind and a pile of mouldering Kodachrome I think it could lead to some nice images.

Being sort of the same, in that I can't throw a thing away, I shot a roll of Kodachrome 64 (found in a lot of film I successfully won on fleabay). As I didn't know what to expect I thought shooting fungus I came across in the forest might lead to some interesting results. Shot at 32 ISO with an OM2n, f3.5 macro lens & extension tube.

This one looks as if it was taken deep undersea:

This one was taken moments before my son crushed this puffball:

This was developed with a stock solution of Xtol for about 7 minutes. I gave it a 5 minute presoak and a 20 minute wash before handling it. The anti-halation layer or Remjet came away very easily.

Definitely doesn't look half bad after all.

When my brother-in-law gave me his entire Spotmatic kit, there was a roll of unexposed Kodachrome in the bag. I couldn't bring myself to get rid of it. I'd read it could be developed as black and white. Might have to get some Rodinal now! Gary, if I do try this at some point, do you mind if I bug you about every last detail? :)

Rodinal was my favourite developer.
I do miss Kodachrome but I never did give Velvia a try. Perhaps it's high time I did.
