Nice not being in school, so I'm taking lots of road trips this summer. today went to a place called vulture mine outside of wickenburg (about 60 miles from phoenix). actually, i had planned on visiting a few 'middle of nowhere' mines, also, but i got very stuck trying to cross the very wide, very dry hassayampa river. fortunately i wasn't too far out. just had to hike about a quarter mile across the sand to a ranch (after covering my entire body with dirt trying to get out of the fix myself), and a really nice old rancher guy pulled me out with his tractor. so i said to hell with that and headed to the accessible vulture mine. very sweet place. 7 dollar donation and you just wander around wherever you want (except the actual mines). sweated it out for about three hours until i was hungry, dirty and out of film. a few polaroids, expired 107 for the 195 and 87 for the square shooter, from the day... anyone else do anything fun?
